Just got my 2b licence last Thursday

recently i just gotten my NSR 150…

However I encounter some situtation…I'm totally not used to this bike and the kick start thing (CDC bikes are Electric Start)

So below are some of the questions

1) Can we kick start in Gear 1? If yes, need to clutch in?

2) I encounter gear 3 engine stalled. So I somehow push it to the side of the road, So I tried to down the gear to neutral but I failed. Can't start the engine as well… how to deal with this?

heh heh heh

y not try to kick start in 1st gear without clutching in and let us know the outcome :p haha

if you get stuck in gear, try clutching in and moving the machine forwards / backwards a little, maybe 20 - 30 cm or play with your clutch lever

then try again to down shift. :)

Grounded... :/

always clutch in la, kick start in first gear or you get is a sudden jerk only. scare your balls off.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

You should still be able to start the engine regardless of the gear engaged as long as you disengage the clutch.

If this is possible, in addition to what antartica has mentioned, you may also "free" your gear by revving and then shifting.

i can only kick start my bike in neutral... seems like when i engage first gear, clutch in and kick start, the bike rolls forward once the starter is depressed past a certain point (not sure if its the momentum from the kick making the bike move forward?)

i could kick start my ex-rxz in 1st gear and clutched in though

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

Hallo eternity83,

2 Stroke bikes are different, when you clutch in even during neutral you can't even kick start it.you will feel there is no feeding from the crank(kickstart) to the engine.if you are at gear 1 and you release ur clutch during kicking offcourse your bike will jerk forward.aniwae thats a safety feature there unless u r using and electrical starter bike like NSR 125.then you can talk about 1st gear electric cranking.aniwae ride safe..

bike jerk forward when in gear 1 and clutch is engaged is a safety feature?i thought its because the engine has started running and because ur in gear 1 and the bike starts moving but stalls because there isnt enough throttle?

1) Let me sum it up,T.s questions is that can he start in gear 1 ?

The answer is yes, he can only if his bike is equipped with electric start provided he clutch in,but it doesn't work with 2 strokes, even if you clutch in while it is in gear ,there will be no feedback from the kickstart.so to me clutching in is considered a safety feature mahh, you can try crank your electric start bike while in gear without pressing the clutch ,confirm the bike will lunge forward my fren..

1) Of course... I've tried before in gear 1, N, 2 and 3 bfore.. Of course must clutch in... If not u may fall off from ur bike.

2) Try to move forward and reverse ur bike. Or best, clutch in, then paddle the bike then kick to neutral...

U may need to check the fuel either is on position...

Try asking the SP thread. They are helpful and useful.
