Hey guys i am interested in the R15 and the Roadwin 125r,

i personally prefer the design of R15 but R15 seems to be a rather tiny bike compared to the roadwin 125R.

Lets say if i get the roadwin 125R in the end, are the spare parts easy to find as i heard it is unlike the yamaha which is more common. dont wanna kena chopped carrot head with the excuse from the bike shop saying the parts are rare!

Tell me your opinions on the bikes.

Thanks bros and fyi, i did searched the forum and read up on both bikes.

Hope you guys would respond soon :cheeky:

hm...

there's a red roadwin 125r in my carpark and i have a friend with a red r150

personally i would pick r150

reasons being

  • fit and finish - the r150 looks neater and more expensive than the 125r
  • japanese vs korean - well yamaha comes out tops in this one with their many years of experience building bikes
  • spare parts support - normally spare parts support for yamaha and honda is least problematic
  • power to weight ratio - yes, the 125r is large, but can it produce enough power to move its heft? for small capacity bikes usually its better to go for a more lightweight machine

but if you are tall and feel cramped on the r150, perhaps the roadwin would be a more comfortable ride for you. that in itself would be a good reason to choose the roadwin

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

I'm personally riding a roadwin now not a roadwin r but for the part that u said u scare kena chop, I can safely tell you that if u go to cka hq at kaki bukit. It is a reputable shop and they wont anyhow carrot ppl. Every parts they change they will show you the changed parts b4 throwin away or etc. The worksmanship is good as well but the only thing is for normal servicing I think u can go to normal shops but lets say if somethin problematic or big happpens to ur bike I think the troublesome part is only CKA do the job.

Yes R125r is a big bike and I love it as well although Im riding roadwin.

Eeee. If the R15 is japan design and japan made, I don't mind.

But take note R15 is design and made in Yamaha India.

SO it's more of a case of India ver Korean Manufacturing.

Yamaha parts needless to say lah. sure available easily if it's a model that the local agent bring in. (Bike that are not bring in by HLcorp good luck. there are stories about a clutch cable cost $65 not inlusive of frieght.)

Roadwin. is brought in by CKA. Seem the bike and like the R15. It looks pretty big also. Parts I enquired already. Price is not expensive.

But maybe only bane is u must go down to CKA for servicing.

Whatever I said is just personal opinion. The best is go down to both showroom and take a look.

I'm not sure if my memories still serve me well. I did saw both bike at show room. R15 at HLcorp and Roadin at suntec tower 2 road show by CKA.

The feeling is the the Oradwin feels more solid built.

I might be wrong. but the best way out is go down and have look.

CKA at kakibukit. HLCorp is just next to TP HQ. They are still not too far away.

just look at the rear tyres of both the bikes

the daelim pwns the r15 dip dip

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair body expensive and slow.

the r15 is not made in japan. its made in india whereas the rwr125 is korean made. that was one of the main factors tt led me to choose the roadwin. yes the only problem is u hafta go to cka for servicing and all. I highly recommend cka kaki bukit. I've been to another cka branch and i wasn't happy. most of the rwr125 riders will tell you to go to cka kaki bukit. They are pretty well stocked with their spare parts and are very transparent about their prices.

some of the other reasons of y i chose the rwr125,

its a big bike for a 125cc which means more stability as i dont get "pushed around" when riding beside a lorry or when they zoom past me.

to me it looks a lot nicer then the r15.

power to weight ratio- it definitely produces enough power to move its bulk. i'm a big guy (not fat) just big and the bike doesnt feel like its labouring when im on it.

the tyres are not as skinny as those on the r15.

more comfortable riding position

things to consider

the reported top speed is 135km/hr. it falls short of a lot of 125cc sports bike but where in singapore do u wanna go up all the way to 180km/hr?

if i remember correctly the r15 is cheaper than the rwr125, but then again korean made vs indian made(im not a racist)

But ultimately its ur choice as no one not even ur friends should force u to get a bike tt u don't like. go down and sit on both bikes, talk to the salespeople. tt's wat i did and i still feel that the rwr125 was a better buy.

cheers

yea resale value is a point to take note if u intend to sell it after 1-2yrs of riding.. :thumb:

i am riding a R15, i would say value for money, 40km/l fuel consumption rocks.

ah great, now i see many views of individuals. yeah i am thinking i should go down one day to try the bike. i am 1.71m tall, average height only, so maybe R15 wont look too tiny on me? hahaa! But either way i still need to go to shop and sit down on it and feel the power!

agreed, but with any bike you buy first hand the depreciation will be the most painful.....

i want to say roadwin R.... both are going to have good FC as they are both 4-stroke but for the roadwin the construction looks more solid...

Cheap + fast = no good

Cheap + good = not fast

Good + fast = not cheap

if ur concerned about resale value den i wld suggest to get a second hand bike instead of a 1st hand. buying a 1st hand bike and selling it 1 or 2 years down the road , the value of the bike will depreciate like crazy no matter what make it is.

if u r thinking of upgrading to a 2a or class 2 bike in the future den mite as well get a 2nd hand bike tt wont stretch u before u get ur class 2a or 2 bike.

just my 2 cents worth :)

r125 cost much more than r150 BUT

r125 is big , look like 600cc bike but the power will pwn r150 easily..[ no offence to r150 rider , maybe i more hardcore rider only]

my r125 in term of pickup or normal road , i dont this will lose r150..

anyway i weight 100++ , 190++cm..

dunno leh... when i see rwr on the road they always seem to be travelling quite slow, pickup quite slow leh... (or maybe they just want to ride slowly la... i dunno)... whereas the r150s i saw pickup etc still pretty acceptable

i haven't ridden any of these bikes before so mybe u shld get comments from riders of both bikes, this is just my general opinion of them after seeing them on the road

i know it is nt japan made la (how many 2b bikes r japan made)? but for japanese bikes their non-japan made bikes still seem pretty ok

but anyway i will still go with yamaha la.... at least spare parts support confirm wont b a problem :)

boring rider. with a boring bike.

i think the R15 is going to be the next generation 4stroke version of honda nsr150sp.

Seeing more and more of it on the road. getting more popular. in the next 5years, u will see it everywhere.
