Hie guys, just thought to ask but do any of u carry or maintain a pouch of first aid kit in ur bike box, panniers and etc. Whats the recommended minimum items?

Its becoz i once stopped to help a fallen biker along woodlands ave 12 and as much as i want, i couldnt do anything much becoz i do not have any first aid kit with me. I personally feel that while waiting for the ambulance, whatever aid that could be applied to the fallen biker actually helps a lot.

Hope to get some constructive views on this.

I want to see the world and i'm pretty sure the world wants to show a little something to me.

actually touching on this issue, the most important aid you can give before the ambulance arrives is to ensure blood loss is minimized, broken bones are imobilized, ensuring the victim is not moved, and ensuring the area around him is safe from traffic, and to maintain breathing and heartbeat if there is none.

other aid like helping a guy dress his wounds, bandage him up put antiseptic not very impt cos the doctor/nurses at the hospital will do that nicely once he gets there.

oh and talking to him and passing him a smoke/drink would be nice too to help with the shock, also making sure he has all his valuables with him would be great!~

Well, if your first aid skill is limited to pasting a Hansaplas on a finger papercut, then I say dont bother to out the kit in the bike.

The space is better used for everyday things, like a tyre pressure gauge. :)

Most of us are not first aider, and when we came across an accident site, its safer for everyone (most of all to the victim) to just wait for ambulance and those who really know how to treat traumatic accident injuries.

one best thing that i can think of is the Army FAD. That is to stop bleeding. Get an FAD from emart is the best. Cos any other broken bones, we wouldnt knw how to treat it could be worst. The most important is to keep the victim calm and ask for his particular make sure he dun pass out of conscious.

the rider cracked his skull and blood was seeping onto the tarmac. looked ard for clean cloth but to try to stop the bleeding but cant find any. i was an saf ambulance driver so i know a bit lah. the rider didnt make it. he died a a few days later. this happened last yr.

by stopping the bike and diverting traffic, you have already done alot.

i am sure the fallen riders all greatly appreciate it even though they can't say it out.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)
