This is my current dash till i can afford a 20rpm koso dash.. Took about 2 days to cut the existing meter and custom fit everything in.. Made a small box for my 10 led 5 seg fuel gauge on the right hand side.. Still calibrating the fuel sensor.. After cdi fixed, gonna move on to coil over plug coversion or some call it a pencil coil..

Bike currently stuck at my carpark.. Waiting for mori to buy the goods and deliver.. Will take about a week to settle everything with an addition charge of about 2000 yen.. Thanks to csv for the link.. For the time being, its like riding out with my second wife with my mind fully on this wife.. By the way, kinda shock to see a 600 parked behind my bike today.. Wonder if it belongs to anyone here..

cool! you mean stick coils? i have a magazine that taught how to convert plugs to stick coils. Practical Sportsbike.

So you did speak to moriwaki man ah? that's nice. glad to be of help.

@S750WP, just google moriwaki man, he has his own website. can just email him.

Yeap.. Stick coils.. Wonder if all the sticks are of the same length.. Will start the project next month.. Mori said it will take about 4 days for the item to reach him before he can mail me about 3 days to reach singapore.. Thinking of setting up a website of all my diys and projects..

whats the benefit of stick coils versus traditional plugs?

Hope to join you on your rides some day and see the hornet.

Some says you will gain some horse, easier starting and smooth idling.. To me, im purely keeping up with technology and my coil is coming to 10 years.. So its better to get it upgrade.. Another benefit for the hornet that it will definitely cleans up the mess under the tank and its really a pain in the ass to remove the cap as theres not much room under the tank..

I think ive found the actual problem of my bike... Not sure why it is built this way but theres a pink wire that feeds the ecu and its regulated at 9v.. Its a safety switch in the key barrel itself.. If somebody tries to cut the wires and joint to start the bike it will simply not start.. If the pink wire is getting more than 9v, it wont start.. My 9v keeps disappearing..

so have you solved it? or just rip the entire pink wire out? that's the immobiliser i think?

Temporary yesh.. Without the pink wire, it will never start.. So what i did was to get a 3.9v diode from the ignition wire on the ecu to the pink wire directly.. This will give that desire 9v the ecu is craving for.. I tried resistor to reduce the voltage and it simply wont work.. I dont know why.. This is what my temporary wiring set up looks like.. Will be soldering a new piece in..

Now the bike starts normally.. Lets see if the intermittent starting problem comes back.. Will update again..

hmm, looks like quite a job.

have you tried posi-taps, posi locks, instead of splicing wires together? I've been trying to find them in Singapore, but no luck.

To me, soldering will still be the best connection over all these bulky posi stuff.. I own a butane powered soldering gun, so its pretty much portable, after soldering, slides the heat shrink, heat it with a ligther and its good to go..

nice, always intrigued by how heat shrink works, they way they constrict when heated up and how neat they look after, covering up the splicing.

I also have electrical issues in my bike. my left signal lamp keeps blowing even though i've replaced it 2-3 days ago. the right side is okay though.

previously, the lamp flashes quite rapidly with the old bulbs but the left side blew so i replaced both bulbs on both sides with newer bulbs which flashes at a more moderate rate, but the left side blew again.......wonder if it's relay problem.

ordering manual from Mori-man, so i will know what is the right voltage and watts for the bulbs.

Its good to get the right watts, right relay.. Others always says thats its bad to touch the glass of the light bulb itself.. To my experience, i always go for a better bulb.. China bulbs always blows.. Others always go for pricey aftermarket load resistor gizmo.. To me, ill just wire up a 1 dollar potentiometer and i can adjust the speed of the blinker.. We should have coffee somewhere someday soon..

i love the looks of the new cb600...read a few posts back a number of forumers enquiring bout the bike but was suggested getting a cb1000r instead...why is tat so? i believe the former is considerably cheaper than the latter right? and riding a litre bike in sg is abit overkill dont u guys think so? :cheeky:

pls do fill me in...im considering between cb600 n xj6 for my next ride...besides following the threads of these two bikes ive not done much research though hehe

As far as I understood CB600F is far most expensive 600 around (*lets compare among the Jap bike only)

The 600 in some way have quite some similarities with my 919 in terms overall design. But I does prefer the bike finishing and equipping. Has yet ride one, but certainly one 600 I would like to ride...

I wonder if its dangerous to conduct soldering near the bike?

There's some sort of terminal block where we can connect wires together via screw, pretty neat too...

if it doesn't hit the tank at full lock, shouldn't be a problem.

Am considering getting renthal bars on my bike as well, wider and straighter would give me better position when riding, but will make lane splitting abit more troublesome.

I turn my handle fully lock to the left, visually it seems "low" between handle control and tank.... that drives me this thought if I should go ahead with a low handle.

Any differences in features between "Renthal" & "Rizoma"?

general position is about the same, but some say that renthal is lower quality than rizoma.

both use aluminium though so are lighter than stock steel handlebars.

It's not a big deal for me la, i mean if I have to stick with the ori handlebars, i don't mind. ori are quite low bend actually, similar to ducati monster's, unlike s4's which the bend is quite high.
