Bought the other one instead.. The blue one was long gone.. The bike had been in a minor crash previously.. Paid 3.5 for a year of coe left.. Hard to explain the reason why i choose a crashed bike over all the good condition bike i viewed..

Erm... You dont need to hit 80km/hr to hit 12k rpm.. But i will agree to the sound of the bike.. The bike is pretty silent(im running stock with no holes in exhaust)..

Buying a 2nd hand car, bike or house is all about the feel for it.

S$3.5K for a year of COE is quite high but still not as high as the specimen I viewed, which the owner was asking for high $2Ks. With around 6 months of COE left, it works out to be a yearly depreciation of $5+K . . . but still can't beat the asking prices of those soon-to-expire-of-COE Super 4s.

So, yours is a FW-plater?

4k without COE renewal. yes, expensive. original selling price was 2.8k cause i knew the previous owner was an australian who is moving back, so he sold to Loois. Now looi's want to make 1.2k profit from it. crazy.

i meant the CB400 is a boring bike. its a commuting bike, and yeah pick up is there or whatever, but at the end of the day, no emotional attachment to the bike. Have yet to find any bike that I have a strong emotional attachment. Could be a Street Triple, Cagiva Mito or Ducati Monster.

16 inch front tyre is very limited, but there is still some available. else, can swap out the front end for cb400 ones. been done in taiwan.

Still searching for a Hornet 250.

Anyone who is selling a good condition specimen or stumbled upon one being sold at any motorbike shop, please PM me or provide the heads-up and/or details here.

Preferably those still within the original/1st COE. Those which have their COEs renewed, will consider if the condition is good/well-maintained.

Thanks.

Was thinking if i should swap my front rim to 17 inch twin disc.. But i will be losing that huge front tyre as well.. In the end, decided to stick to 16 inch..

quite troublesome to swap out front end. can be done but troublesome. you get more choices of tyres though. never understood why they chose 16 front 17 reach though.......17/17 is always the industry "standard"

am thinking of selling off my Impulse and getting a Steed 400 instead. mod it to a bobber.

sudden urge to ride a bobbed cruiser.........hmmmm.

maybe i getting sian of the Impulse?

Smaller rims makes the tyre looks big.. Superfour front rims and fork is a direct fit for hornet.. Theres tons of s4 parts in the scrappps..

I want a bar something like this.. Dont quite like renthal bar as they are more to scrams type of bars.. I prefer those bars with an angle like those one the ducatis.. Wonder if any monster rider letting go thier stock bars..

Anyway, if anyone in need of a hornet 250 cdi year 2000 and above do let me know.. Ive got 2 spares excluding the one on my bike... Accidently bought 2 from 2 different webbies.. Need to let go one.. Agent 380, got it at 190 used.. Letting go at 100.. No point keeping so many cdi..

Hey, I quite like it... the handle bar... the theme work on the bike not bad too... I lurve those racing stripe... can head towards that direction.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

hey guys, i got quote from paint extreme for my paint work already.

400 bucks to paint 2 tone blue white racing stripe. inclusive of chemical wash to wash off the spray paint used by the previous owner. botched job.

I also ordered the bikevis bullets to increase my daytime visibility. looking to mount them on my signal lights. just need to look for someone who has the wiring kit, crimp, heatshrink and the likes.

sent the bike to detailing the other day, ask them if they can polish up my pitted forks and metal parts, they said can be done, but advised me to get paintwork done first cause have to leave the bike there overnight.

you guys can go try it out if you like. Riding 69/sixnine ultimate detailing (facebook). they are currently located in 5 commonwealth lane but will move to Serangoon soon.

i paid 27 bucks for a wash and quick polish. no comments on the wash and polishing cause it only did minimal improvement, but they cleaned my dirty greasy rim spokes very very well until its clean to touch. previously i never touch that area cause i know its super dirty. i only clean the outer rims.

Hei cb 919 riders...

I saw some bikes with the exhaust gbr positioned on top near the seat. Just wondering if it can get too hot for pillion rider while long distance-ing. Any feedback?

Hi all~~

By any chance if any of you guys are looking into getting good quality GOREtex jackets/raincoat. Please give my product a consideration too.

link : http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/369640-CLEARANCE-SALES-OF-GORETEX-RAINCOATSJACKETS-(-ALL-MUST-GO!-)-Not-Common-Brands?p=7750076#post7750076

Alot of color choices and not the common brands of raincoat riders are using. Quality of water resistant is as good as NS issued. However, it's of a much thinner layers to suit our hot climate. Mutiple air ventilation zippers on the jacket too for riding during the day to protect from sun. More info please refer to thread or contact us! Thanks and ride safe! Cheers!~~

Hi guys, im selling my rs125 this week, to change to something more reliable and maintenance free, ill be taking over the hornet 250 and am quite excited. Its totally stock but the first thing id like to get is the engine guard, does any of you know where would be a good/cheap set to get?? The rear tyre is also balding how much does a it cost and which tyre would you guys recommend? And finally where would i be able to get a good rear fender+hugger does sg shops ahve any of those that are not too expensive? thanks!

Reasons why i appreciate this small bike.

I4 250 cc - nowadays most 250s are all single cylinder to save co production costs.

Gear Driven Cams - few bikes comes with gear driven cams, it saves on chain maintenance, and usually only on bike bikes like vfrs +rc51 and for wsb aprilia used them before getting ban due to helping them "win". Also honda has stopped using them on the latest vfrs as they say due to excessive engine noise but i find the whirring noise fantastic. especially cool on a small 250 unheard of.

Tyre size- 180 rear bigger than s4 160. 180s like a supersport 600, prolly biggest rear for any 250 kinda cool.

Single rear shock- compared to a S4 which uses dual shocks this would help in handling.

Weight - lighter than an S4, S4 has 194kg dry. Hornet250 151kg.

Revs - till 16k stock with derestricted cdi hitting 19k

Top speed - stock hitting 180 which is prettty close to an S4

Single side exhaust.

After much consideration for a good transport bike, i decided this over a S4. plus the fact its rarer and has cool heritage and innovations on it. Hopefully i can learn more from any of you still riding it. and hopefull ill enjoy it as much as i read the reviews of it! haha

hmm, 180 rear tyre will not be cheap. you looking at 200 to 300 plus.

rear huggers and parts can try looking around but I always go to Japan to source for the parts since there's plenty more there.

else, try taiwan. or see if the cbr929 ones will fit.

glad to see you decide to purchase a rarer bike over the common s4.

indeed, inline 4 250s are rare now. i tried looking for a cbr250 but none in sg. 16krpm with a nice aftermarket exhaust will spell heaven for my ears.....

Yea I found china rear hugger+chainguide for 20+sgd before shipping, got renthals for 100 cause I felt the bike abit too high, found stainless steel headers for about 100+ and gonna get a better CDI for 100, very easy to ride bike, erring to abit boring lol compared to my old rs125. Crash guards also found in china for 60. I found the brakes extremely weak though, prolly swap to sainless lines + pads to see if it helps if not a mc change has to come... Really looking forward to the bar change.
