Where to install Yamaha Fazer8S hard side box?

Hi Bro & Sis,

 

I would like to check where to install the Good and Sturdy side box for my Fazer8S.. My top box 46L not enough to use liao.. :cheeky:

 

So please tell me where and roughly how much is the damage for the installation of the side box.. :cheers:

Your top 46L is what brand and you using what rack for that?

Cos the sideboxes and racks have to complement what you have.

 

Some side racks will not fit with top racks of different brands.

if fz1 can use v35 i tink fz8 also can ba.. they both share a same ass?

 

But how does the panniers from yamaha.. don't know it fits this FZ8S or not.. I don't mind paying more as the original yamaha side box will look nicer.. :p

oem panniers are too expensive bro... unless you have the budget...

 

bro, v35 will looks slightly more aerodynamic & sportier as it curves into the arse...

but bracket wise, we are unsure liao in case the mounting points might be slightly different...

 

if u wan something bigger in volume, go for h&b series...

1 thing about OEM parts, it comes with warranty on the bike.

 

meaning, should anything happen to your sub-frame with the panniers on while riding, yamaha will have to do replacement, should they determine that it is not due to negligence or improper installation.

 

but for that, it comes at a premium over aftermarket brands.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

haha.. Just check with hong leong and they said for the FZ1 pannier and side box will cost around 2.3k :eek: so expensive.. So I looking at H&B junior series.. I don't know whether they got the side pannier for FZ8S too or not.. :cheeky:

bro, try to check m-technik for h&b racks or biketech for sw-motech racks ok?

if u interested in sw-motech racks and u know how to take measurements, u can contact me to look at mine on my fz1 and things can be arranged... :)

roughly $460 for side racks & $290 for top rack... all inclusive the adapters, locks, blah blah blah but exclusive the panniers/box itself and installation... :)

oic... frankly speaking i also feel them being nicer compared to h&b ori racks for my h&b junior panniers... :thumb:

 

on balancing concerns...

yes, you have to balance the load between the two side panniers due to weight distributions or at least keep the load almost near to each other by judging it with your hands...

if u didn't balance it properly, u may notice it when u come to a full stop on a upright position on a straight and smooth road, u tends to slant to the heavier side on a full stop...

on the bike perspective, it's not good for the tires as it will wears out one side (the heavier side) faster on a long term...

I've checked with H&B and they have the rack for FZ8 yet.. :(

 

got check sw-motech ma?

thou the price of the rack is slightly higher, u will get better quality...
