know where i can rent underwater cameras?

Anyone still using the Pansonic Lumix F-1 ?

I have the underwater casing designed specifically for that camera only and not any other camera in the world. Still in superb condition, like new. Anyone interested ? FOC.

where ur lumix F-1 ?

destroyed in the rain during a mud fest ride :slapforehead:

To prevent something stupid like this from happening again, I bought the Olympus mu-795 SW.

That's a good one!

I also gave my A75 and WPDC30 away to my friend after he helped me get the A650 IS and WPDC18 from Japan. Cameras and casings are really a whole lot cheaper there. Only thing is that all instructions are in Japanese. :giddy:

where do u guys suggest for PADI course?

Hi,i advise u guys if wanna take up diving course, better learn from a proper diving school instead of one man show company. My very bad experience is i learn from a one man show company name FUSION SCUBA and till now i havent got my open water and advanced open water diving licence.Feel so cheated.......so the moral of my story is pay a bit more and enjoy diving, not ended up with hatred just like me.........

hi....guys... i believe there alot regular diver here.... i am very keen in diving but dunno where to start from.... have nver dive b4... dunno where to take the lesson all tat mayb u guys can enlighten me? roughly how much for the basic diving? hehe

yeah im thinkin i always end up diving then no memories of my dives coz no cameras... wtf... im gonna invest in one first before my scuba gears... the problem is... none of my digital cams now comes with underwater casings. WTF... i think a normal 5 mega cam with housing is good enuff fer me.

any leads where's a gd place in SGP?

kewei there are many in SGP... just find one you feel comfortable with... bigger shops may give u better logistics from here to SGP... but once u reach the destination... more often than not its the same for other shops... as in lodging, food and transport...

pros n cons of big vs small dive shops... maybe u wun get to warm up to each and every person in the group... while small groups are of course easier to make acquaintance.

Can get the cameras and casing from Sim Lim. It's cheaper there.

Brand wise I recommend Canon or olympus. They are trying to capture the diving community market so their camera casings are usually easier to get.

I agree, I spend my first few dive trips w/o pictures and after going redang and then being unable to take the picture of things underwater. I got real fed up and bought camera before my gears. Have not regreted it since.

Bro, sorry to hear that, but in your case i dun think you will ever be getting the card liao. Coz basically what the shops do is take the $$ from the course and dun courier your details to the dive organisation so you will never get the card from them. The shops will hence "earn" more. The other method is write to the dive organisation directly and see if they can help pressure the shop.

OT a bit. The doggie in your advantar very cute!!!

this is some beautiful pics. specially the eel 1. it keep still there for u to take?

:cheeky: Thank you thank you. Nope, nothing underwater keeps still enough for you to take. But I do enjoy the slow moving ones so that it is easier to take their pictures. Like nudi-brancs. Tried taking the moray's pic quite a few times and Started to learn their routine of opening their mouths and then take the camera lag time in consideration so can get the open mouth pic.

Nope not a one size fits all. Each different model of camera also have their own type of casing. I got the casing from Japan so that it is cheaper. about $230. If buy from sim lim it's about $270 (after bargainning). Market price is $360 for the canon brand.

It looks like a fun cam. Was tempted to buy it also at one point. But I dun think it is for diving as the depth for that cam is only 3m. I may be wrong. But I haven't seen the casing for this camera before. But if for riding and taking pics in the rain, this camera is it.

The entry model is only capable up to 3m.

The mu795sw is capable of up to 10m.

With the underwater casing, the depth is extended to 40m.
