there is oil in your forks. the seal is to keep the oil inside your fork. its leaking most probably because the seal is worn out. if its replaced and it still leaks then ur fork could be damaged internally. $120 is an avg price for new fork seals and oil for a pair of em.

what bike u riding? i riding kr, change both fork oil seal is about $80 bucks.. even if the mech says only 1 oil seal of yours is broken, it's highly advisable to change both of them at one shot, else it wouldn't be balance. Thus, it's more prone to be broken again in future. Another thing, since your break pad is oily already, please do change to a new one. That brake pad of yours is already considered unusable.

$120 is a bit pricey. Planet Motor's Ah Chong will change a Super4's fork oil seal and fork oil for $80 and a Fazer 6's fork oil seals plus fork oil for $100. I have never serviced my SP for more than a hundred too. What bike u riding? Don't get carrot

120 is pricey? Knowing how to do, and knowing what to do is different thing.

120 bucks is considered OK.. go to those shops whom are specialized in doing suspension will easily cost you 150~200 minimal for fork servicing..

Ppl here keep on bargaining about what price this service of changing fork seal is.

So what is the price for any service, onemight ask?

You want cheap, you get cheap service and poorer work quality.

That makes sense, doesn't it?

To change any fork seal, the forks have to be disassemabled by a impact driver by lossening the bolt from the bottom fork leg.

Thereafter, the entire fork mechanism have to be removed and inspected, including bushes and washers etc.

Bushes and those which have certain clearances need to have their tolerance checked against the manual.

Replacing parts that need replacing and the fork seals need to be properly seated with the right tool. the entire fork internals must be ensured that they are clean before re-assembling, as any tiny hard materials trapped inside, could cut the seal and scratched the bushes.

Then each fork have to be filled with the right weight and volume of oil.

ahh. this is true. anyway, if there's a problem with the fork, its better to get it solved quick. u wont want to risk saving a few $ for a lousy job, which may leave u with painful memories.

if the OEM fork seal with fork oil N labour.. $100 is a good catch.

Believe anything lower. is "local" fork seal..

good luck !

I agree wif u..

For me $20 - $30 is not the problems, Most important is the workmanship

U can go anywhere is cheaper but give u a local fork seal also don`t last u long end up also need to change again...

Wat the point?

Aprilia RS125 (09) - 2009 - 2011

Suzuki DRZ400sm (K7) - 2011 - 20??
