Bro, Wat the cost removing the valve and where u do?

Datuk, dont have to really remove it totally..Just disconnect the cable for the set valve motor itself and the pin off the ECU connector..

so disabling the set valve will keep the valves permamently opened, right?

one of the thread i've read from the ang mo threads mentioned, by disabling the set valve because of the FI error, is like "ignoring" the fact that the bike is trying to tell us that there is a prob.

so apart from all the "benefits" of louder idling, to smoother low end revs, will it do any harm to the bike over time?

The things you own, end up owning you.

its not exactly ignoring, more likely to take a so called "shitty" part (as quote by someone) out of a bike..hence making it not part of the bike...:faint:

harm to the bike, not really sure but back pressure of the engine is sth even i myself need an understanding further...but what i did when taking off the set valve is also dismantle the battery wire temporarily...this will cause loss of calculation memory (forgot the exact term)...after u are done with the valve set, connect back the battery wires n switch on the bike...this will cause the bike ecu (i think or sth else) to re-calculate something that has got to do with the exhaust ratio timing of air n fuel mixture...it works for me at the moment.. i learn abt this based on a leo vince website when changing a slip on exhaust and the necessity of dyno for slip ons...it may not be necessary but im just doing this to see the changes for myself...

Please correct me if i'm wrong bros...for i am just a human...

so you don't lose too much if you decide to change bike after 1 year. :D

Unless you are shiiting money like ((((R1Rider)))), can change a new bike every 6 months.

Hi,

I'm looking at an '03 R1, it's in good nick, but it's done over 80,000 km. Is that really high for an R1? Asking price is around $9k, any advice?

sometimes milleage can be deceiving. If the milleage is high but owner takes good care of it, what's wrong?

Or if the milleage is low but owner never takes care of it???

by the way, any accessories to go along with the bike?

oic. so have any of you guys who removed the set valve went for annual inspection and had no problems passing the exhaust emission test?

i mean the sound will become louder afterall right?

I think the 1st batch of K6s who has the set valve removed will only be going for inspection around this time or early next year..

Thx for getting back. It's hard to tell if its been looked after because it's just been painted which if anything concerns me. No accessories, it's stock standard.
