hi mate...

Wish U good luck in taking your license ....

Helmets

U can get it from LAB aka Lim Ah Boy or from Helmet Boy Nick in SBF....

Personally I always use MHR helmet...

Comfort & affordable & reliable...lol

MHR $28 (entry range but it is good !!!) available at Chaip Lee (nearest to Leo Vince showroom)

As we perpise alot in such humid weather, it would be a worth while investment to get a bandana aka head scraf (look nice & does the job)

Trust me on that.... for more details do pm me....

Bikes

Wait till U pass liao then decide, it never too late....

Usually what U been targetting for b4 passing licence & after passing is totally different...lol

If U are keen in upgrading (2A or 2), get a 2nd hand 2B bike will do...

This will save U $$$ on the long run... trust me on that...

I been buying & selling bikes so much that if I were to make sensible choices I should be owning quite a few RSV...lol but I'm happy with the way it is..lol

Take your time to decide to buy the bike U want...

DON"T RUSH OR BE RUSH!!!!!

& plus U are enlisting next year, my advice will be to get a kup kia...

Affordable & practical.....

$$$ is a very important issue when choosing a bike....

cause buying is easy but not maintaining....

Kup like Wave (slow but steady)

Spark & X1R (fast enough but not cheap)

are very good choices...

now is to see your budgeting & planning...

If can fully pay for the best cause NS allowance not much unless U are a officer...lol

Make your choice wisely....

Need any help feel free to find me...

I always glad to help any new fellow bikers...

Cheers!!!

Regards

Steven

hmmm just wanna highlight to TS, dressing up for the crash should be your top priority. Everyone knew that riding is extremely vulnerable, so your money should invest on good equipment like light armored jacket, riding glove and proper helmet (*FF would be good) it certainly looks weird in the eyes of other trainees or some experienced riders but you have the responsibility to protect every inch of yourself. Continue to cultivate this habit even when you step out of the driving centre. Try using rough sand paper and go through your skin surface (*random simulation, imaging going it at high speed interval). This my msg to you, god bless :)

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Seconded.

For sure there will be people who tell you - so serious for what!?!?

Motorcycling is a serious business :D Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Highly accessible power and agility comes at a reasonable cost: responsibility.

:) I strongly believe this habit can be cultivated... hence I been driving myself to don the armored jacket, glove, proper helmet, jeans n shoes... (*still find it weird, but getting use to it) Sadly me alone can't do much, but spread a word around should do the trick.

Definitely possible sir :3

I hold regular outings and DIY sessions for 2B bikers, many of them still with P plate. Last time used to be a lot used to show up in casual attire, these days the newbies (nothing against newbies!) appear in long pants, heavy shoes and full face helmets. A big leap forward. I'm impressed cos no rules for attire were/are set for my short outings, but a lot of new riders read the forums on their initiative. The ATGATT thread by @vyruz was a great and effective initiative!

Next level is encourage investing in riding armour for the legs (was recommended the ForceField brand, must check it out soon at Novena) because in a spill my legs will likely be pinned under the bike.

For myself I will have to stop using office shoes while riding because it offeres minimal protection (ballistic, thermal, and ankle support) should I ever be squashed under the bike.

SBF is a very effective tool to discuss and experiment with new ideas. Ideas like safety gear - its a worldwide necessity and I realised there's no such thing as saying, I travel at 80kph very safe wan (I used to say that!). Until a few trips through Neo Tiew Rd. I was like, hmn where did I keep that driving school armour :D

lol. me goin to renroll soon. now still possible to clear with 2-3 months?

No stopping you, if you are passionate and don't get the failings get you down. If you have a stable working/studying schedule then every night go and play bike - try to clear your theory sessions first so you won't get held up. Then just wait for TP and have fun with it! Relax and pass the first time.

Use a lot of internet research, advice from other riders, etc to pass quick and painlessly. Sometimes the instructors won't ever teach you but thats where "cheating" comes in... there's a lot of great stuff on riding theory on the internet, Keith Code's motorcycle handling guides for instance. Master the theory, win the license without thinking much :D

Where u got it from mate...?

go to my CMO (Motore Bici) to get more info...

not nice to hijack thread ...

Any way, dress for the crash is very impt...

but many seem to ignore...(I also 1 of them)

Well in Sunny Spore, it can be quite a chore but in order to minimise "bak kah" & potentially save your life when anything happen, this is the way to go...

Dress for the crash not for the ride...lol

I still trying though..lol

Yup power of the internet can do wonders!!!!
