Ever wondered what these acronyms mean?

CBR = Ch**By*Rider

 

RVF = RiderVeryFcuked-up

 

VFR = VeryFcuked-upRider

 

haha no offence to anyone riding the above bikes. cause i used to ride a RVF too. just some interested terms i've heard over the years

Real lame jokes aside, I once came across a motorcycle mag (BIKE, UK version) stating that the acronym CBR stands for City Bike, Racing.

I do not know how true this is though but it makes sense when the CB series (dun laugh!) are commuters, City Bikes.

 

Below are some which I've heard before.

Honda NR = New Racing (Heard of the NR750?)

RR is Race Replica.

N and S is Naked and Sports. (Some bikes like the CBF has dual versions available)

The Suzuki B-King is Boost King

 

I am guessing the rest:

HONDA

VT = V Twin

VTR = V Twin Racing

VF = V 4

VFR = V 4 Racing

ST = Sports Touring

X series = X as in cross country or Moto cross? Since these are usually on scrams.

 

YAMAHA

V-max = V four engine. Max probably sounds better when you want to sell a muscle bike. V min anyone? ;D

 

For the rest, I am lost:

Along with the Yamahas, Kawasakis and Suzukis.

i read in a mag last week that CBR means Cross Beam Racer.IIRC its from the engine layout they got that name.The others YZF,GSX,Ninja i cant remember..

Ya, the Hayabusa is the peregrine falcon, known for it speed.

And that the falcon preys on Blackbirds, it's an interesting fact isnt it? Esp when you noticed that before the Suzuki Hayabusa (Falcon) came out, the reigning king of speed is the Honda Blackbird.
