Hello there, finally upgraded from F650 ro R1150GS. Been riding the bike on/off for a months. Bike starts nicely, quiet and smooth. After it warms up, there is a continuous 'Deng Deng Deng" sound from the left cylinder. Performance wise seems OK. Just a noisy Left cylinder... after googling I found this

Thread mentioned that the rocker clearance maybe causing the noise as I described... Any "outside" shop can do this rocker clearance (while I watch & learn) and how much? I got a mech that I can get my hands dirty together to get it done (trial and error). But this is my first boxer, so I don't want to screw it up. Last resort, I will proceed my clueless DIY session armed with a download PDF service manual.

The "deng deng deng" sound probably from the tensioner. Since you asking some one to do it, you might want to check the chain guides for breakage. I had encountered broken due to abuse to the boxer engine. Try combine motors as they are highly recommended by my other Beemer friends. Cheers.

sad_how: sent a PM to you, not me but someone I knew of who is letting go. You check with him

Meanwhile, anyone can guide me how can I get my hands on Corbins in Sg for my GSA . Bloody yanks so stuck up , despite numerous emails and even call to them. They seemed reluctant to reply nor deal with me.

You got to make long distance call in the early mornings to them. Last time tried to order for my previous bike in the end I gave up, subsequently went to Sargent route. They in fact have an agent here in Singapore.

I did, they took down my email. Sent one email asking for address, which I replied and that's about it. And its 2 weeks since with 3 more follow up email from my end... and its like talk into a void with no echo nor reply. Damn "solid" customer service.

Reason why I like to use back corbin is that I been using them for years on my last bike and I can ride miles after miles on it. I got it from the now closed Max Equipment which also by chance he had a piece.

How Sargent? good? really like to have a feel before committing.

Hope it worked out for you as its ashamed I gotta let go of the offer as its too small for my butt due to its being tailor for low seating.

Had to agree with you on their solid customer service.

Just as good but not as solid as the Corbin.

Present bike haven't had the Sargent yet cos no time to ride. Give Francis Chua autocom a call think he has a sample. if you need his contact go to http://www.bmwmcs.org his contact should be there.

Thanks tofuman & biker20. Been to Perfection once. But he seems to be alone with many bikes to fix. likely bike going to be stuck there for sometime.

I think I will drop by combine, there are highly recommended by many friends. I know them since they the Bt Batok ind pk days. never did let them fix my bike through...

Have you tried asking Ah Boon or Eugene to reshape your seat? They can do so to your "specs" and I know that Ah Boon will let you / re-shape try before wrapping it up. Best to go on weekday pm cos weekend he is only open Sat and very busy. Not linked with him, just a happy customer.

CC> thanks for the heads up. its about the seat material, I find stock abit too soft for my likening. Like it firm and hard.. mayb I will pay them a visit to see what they can offer. The stock seat is really sh1t! imagine my nuts are having a needle and pins feeling just by riding from Jurong to Bendemeer.. WTF

Hi, I would imagine that the suede-type material that is on the Vespa LX150 will be what you need. It is not an uncommon complaint that the BMW's posture pushes the rider towards the tank aka "nuts crushers". Eugene has that material when my friend re-wrapped his seat. Save your old cover, next owner may well want it.
