Just got myself a 1999 R1100RT from a forumer here. Just checking, other than PML, is there any other bike shop (in the west area) that does BMW bike? And where can we get parts for this bike? Locally or ebay or online site?

I was wondering .... should I purchase the BMW Topcase or get other Topcase such as H&B Explorer?

Was given two side cases upon purchase but not the topcase.

 

Riding the last batch of air-cooled GS.

 

Any advice?

In my opinion, cases are very subjective. What do you want out of them?

Why not visit PML or other shops to see which case puts a grin on your face?

 

I personally have used Xplorer. It's okay.

Now I have the BMW top and side cases, Junior 40 & 45 top cases. All serves their purpose. I am a box whore. Haha

 

Btw, I have a pair of enduro Xplorer cases(30 left 40 right) for sale. New locks and new cover for the right pannier. Also have Hepco pannier rack for R1150GS or 1100GS. pm me if anyone wants.

Basically I am looking at a topcase that can probably put two helmets in, then i can keep the side box and use it only when i travel. Thus i am looking around. An original BMW Topcase cost about $800+++... *gulp*. Not quite sure about other types of prices for the other brands though.

BMW topcase can only fit 1 helmet.. Nothing more..

Careful not too install to big a topcase as u will have trouble opening ur panniers.
