so any other places to go for service?

You can try Perfection Motors at the Auto bay. You can also try looking for this mech Meng Tong who is working at a shop but I can't remember the name which is a few shop before Perfection. Should you want to change tyres, Unique Motors at the same location did a good job for me as they use torque wrenches. It's not the end of the world. I had the same bad experience with the MTecknik mech. Very rude like I owed him money. Next time for those who needs MTecknik services, look for Chan. I think he's one of the bosses. He's a nice fella. In the long run, those who provide rude services will lose their customers. BMW bikes are getting common now a days, given time other bike shops will be good at it too.

So I'm not the only one who encountered this bad experience.

I'd also like to recommend Combine Motor at Sin Ming. The folks there are friendlier and easy to chat with. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, you may like to try hands-on.

I do not have any problem at Mtechnic....in fact ordering spare, Chan calls me when arrived.....Also, I usually call Chan first to book a slot to get something done instead or just dropping by to the shop.....patience is the essence to all dealings and feelings....stay cool guys.

Loois also service my bike but I know now that they only service those bought at their shop.....no problem too with Ahmad.....

Cheers and happy weekend.

Yupz but too bad their range of engine oils and spark plugs are quite limited for motorbikes.

Btw, let me know when you are doing another servicing including valve clearance? I just bought a 1150GS and planning to do it on my next oil change. :D

sure. but i will need the v/v clearance specs for the 1150GS.Tools-wise i think my truckload of equipments will suffice.:p:P

Also good if u have an extra set of cylinder covers gaskets and seals.

Truckload of equipment??!!!! Wow...would love to see what you have, find out what I still lack. Valve clearance specs should be able to find by downloading a repair manual for the bike.

For 1150GS, IN: 0.15mm; EX: 0.30mm

Do you replace the gasket on every Valve clearance?

according to the service manual. the gaskets are re-useable.

But i always make sure i've an extra set to stand by in case the gaskets leak.

Gaskets are reusable unless broken (quite rare). However, there is a sparkplug seal that warrant more change. Also there is a tendency to over-torque the covers' bolts, which can be a costly helicoil repair job.

Cheers

True to that~! Always tighten your bolts and nuts to specific torques~!

i agree coolcat.Anything that involves helicoil is a pain in the a$s job.

Not sure, but should be ok. since bicycle tire pressure is twice or thrice the motorcycle's. I just checked my mountain bike pressure is 35 (off road) to 65psi (road use). I read racer pressure can go up to 110psi.

Hey loo, my advise is to get a normal car tyres repair kits, is more secure and 100% plus chopped no leak of air pressure from your punctured tyre after u restore and pumped up the tyre pressure. I did that on my GSA!!!

KTM77

Hey KTM77, my advise to you of getting a 2013 GS 1200 LC or normal GS Enduro without LC?

If yes LC, don't get it now, wait till next year, after all the trouble shooting of the bike get it right then purchase it. If you buying the GS without LC, I suggest u to buy GSA, trust me, you will not regret in your life!!!

Hope all this sharing help you guys!!! Cheers

The F800gs runs on tube. Don't use the same car repair kits.

Hi , anyone riding F800gs. would like to know where can purchase tyre tube patch in case of a puncture. does the bicycle patches work on motorcycle tubes also?

The bicycle patch kit will do just fine. The problem will be getting the tube out from the main tire. I would bring along a spare tube, get a shop to remove the tube replace with the new tube, keep the old tube repair it in the comfort of the hotel room or your next accommodation. Then you would have another spare for the trip.

hi ..interested in getting the new 2013 GS 1200...any positive and negative remarks?...thks

Have you test ridden the bike yet? If haven't go for test ride then decide for yourself. Seems problems reported had cleared and replaced under warranty in the other parts of the world.

I myself had tested the bike and at the end it keeps me smiling. I will be buying when I sell my current bike.

Cheers
