I myself have been wondering the same question over the past 2 years but I just do not have the time to head down to PML to enquire.

But i did read somewhere that yes, it is possible to do that by disconnecting a wire in the RDC unit itself and perhaps a programming is needed.

Then again only the guys at PML can confirm this. If you have the time, drop by there and share your findings too?

Thanks.

The answer is to use a GS 9-11.

:)

Yes, it is possible to deactivate the RDC. It is supposed to be switch to off when you are doing hardcore off roading whereby I need to lower your tyres pressure is way below the normal riding pressure. You can go into the LC LCD to deactivate this RDC function as stated in the LC manual.

Yes sir. But mine's even older haha. It's a 1995 old lady. My mechanic's bike actually. Since he's not riding it that often, I'll be the one riding it around to & fro work. Hopefully I won't be disappointed. My first Beemer after 2 ST11s and that's about 10years ago.

Drink. Ride. Bloody Idiot.

True true... But not tech2. It's just autopoint.

Any idea how much to change the sidestand micro switch? Don't think it's working.

Oh ya it's autopoint... so u got it with the number?

The sidestand engine cut sensor? I would actually ignore it. Actually it's troublesome with it cos u can never keep the engine on with sidestand.

I thought it only cuts off the engine when you engage a gear with the sidestand extended?

Anyway hope to see you on the road. Haven't seen a black R11R yet. Especially your edition heehee

Hahahhaa.... u won't have a chance to engage to any gears with the sidestand sensor working cos u won't be able to even start the bike.

There's another black R1100R with a 75th anniversary model tank but it's actually a replacement tank and is on GS 19" front/ 17" rear wire spoke wheels.

Mine technically should be on 17" front/18" rear wire spoke wheels but somewhere along the line one of the ex owners swapped out and fitted it with the 3 spoke alloy... much to my displeasure....

I'll see if I can round up the R11Rs and have a mini meet. ;)

Ok noted with thanks.

Another minor problem I got is the rear brake light. It only comes up with the pedal brake and not the lever brake.

He told me need to change the switch at the handlebar which isn't quite cost effective so he ask me to leave it at the moment.

Sign of old age heehee.

I rode it back home earlier. 10 years since I last rode a bike. I find this R very easy to handle. Just need to find the sweet spot for my 2 rear view mirrors haha.

Yes most likely it's the front brake sensor at the lever. If u mind just get it fixed. Sometimes your right foot might be off the foot peg eg to balance yourself and u might need to indicate to the motorist behind that u r braking with your front brake. My Honda had this same problem but I got the sensor replaced. Being a Japanese bike that sensor only costed me like $10.

Get the essential stuff done up. And since u bought from the workshop just go back and ask him to fix them. The R11R is a very simple machinery and frankly it's very easy to maintain and it can last forever. Mine is already 200K km on the odometer. There's one lad in Japan who hit 500K km!!

The boxer is very forgiving at corners of u know how. Being low in center of gravity it can lean very low and yet maintain its balance. And the telelever/paralever suspension setup also gives a smooth riding/braking feel. Just have to get used to it.

And ya.... I know that feeling of riding again after an extended period of time. I too return to bikes after a 11 years absence... never look back since. Mid life crisis perhaps. Hahahahhaa!!!

Heehee. Hope this bike can somewhat cure my midlife crisis then...

So far to your knowledge, there's 4 R11Rs around at the moment (yours, 2 more of your friends & mine)?

Not much accessories to add on to this bike (lucky, in a way). Maybe need a ram mount or two for the mobile phone...

Accessories are somewhat only an opinion. There are always things u can play with. I just gotten the front cowling from Airtech and waiting to spray it.

I decided to keep my R11R as stock as possible or at least close to its original design. Might be getting a pair of slimmer city system cases as well. But that's one whole grand to bring in without shipping. :(

Yup.... including u there are 4 R11R that I know personally. There's one more belonging to the owner of a back lane car workshop at jalan besar but I don't know him personally.
