Hi Rajeh, you might need to tell us which year the GSA you are talking about. As far as GSA LC you can't fix the top box onto the rear seat. It must be place on top of the rear bracket. There is a conversion plate though to cover the rear seat to single rider though.

Hi Rajeh

Yours a GSALC right? To install top box on the rear seat you need this from BMW.

Appreciate anyone who has wrapped their Top box / Panniers can help to advise, which shop can do a better job. I sent my top box to a shop at Bukit Merah but disappointed with their workmanship. Thank you.

The XR forums have all the info u need n the cure to the engine frequency vibration.....

Lol not handlebar shake, more like buzzing sensation

Vibration threshold is relative, depend if u come from HD or Jap I4

Go do a test ride at PML to experience it yourself.....

Hi Guys

Just bought a brand new GSA 1200

I have a couple of questions. Sorry for the newbie questions on BMW bikes

Since my bike manual comes in German...as such..well.

1) What is recommended way for GSA engine run in?

2) Are there other shops whom can service BMW bikes properly other than PML?

Thx!

Previous Drive : Hyundai H100, Subaru 1.6TS, Chery T11 1.6M

Current Drive : 2012 Kia Soul 1.6A

Previous Ride : Yamaha TW200, Honda VT400S, HD XL1200C, Kawa Versys 1000

Current Ride : 2016 BMW GS 1200 Adventure

Dream Ride : Harley Davidson Road King Classic

Congrats on the purchase.

Did you buy your bike from PML? I'm puzzled why your owner's manual is in German. I got my R1200R from PML and my owner's manual is in English.

For running-in, based on recommendations in the owner's manual, just stay below 5000 rpm at all times. Use all the gears available, and avoid sudden acceleration and/or braking. Of cos, there is another school of thought for running-in that says to heck with the 5000rpm limit. Just twist and go. For me, I stuck with what the manual says.

For servicing, you can try M-Technik at Paya Ubi, but others have commented they received poor service there. I've only been there once, to fix my engine crash bars, and the service I got was fine. Price was just a little higher than if I had bought the bars online, shipped them over and installed it myself.

Other places might probably be the shops that sell BMW parallel imports. But if you got your bike from PML, best to go back to them for at least the warranty period.
