@maddog   at least confirm that bike is from PML and not a PI..post 12695 i already mentioned the benefit of PML bike   the rest of the check is just like buying another 2nd hand bike..oh yeah make

Brake pad, can go motoworld to change SBS.. not costly and braking power is there.

Hi Meow,

Didn't check on the starter coil. but was advised by workshop could be the fuel injector slightly block and carbon build up. so went to buy STP 'Complete Fuel System Cleaner' and pour half bot into fuel tank with full fuel and do some whacking at NSHW. Now all back to normal. Thank God id not other major issue.

 

Great your bike is back to normal. Lol. Whack the bike wear and tear, don't whack carbon build up.

I've been using Redline's SI-1 on both my car and bike with good results. I've read that it's alot better than STP's.

A mid-lifer who started late on the motorised 2-wheeler game. Currently riding a 200NS - with a P-plate.

Hi Everyone,

 

I just got a F650GS 08 this week. Would like some advice on bike servicing!

 

Apart from PML, is there any other bike shops which is recommended? I've only come across Perfection Motors in the thread so far.

Do I need a Volt meter for my new r1200 GSA?

 

BTW, what battery does it comes with? Lithium battery or normal Lead battery?

 

I am going to get a new bike from PML.

There is a build in volt meter on the new LCs (but dun expect it to do much)

All BMW bikes still comes in normal lead batteries. But dun worry too much as battery is also covered under warranty.

Had an incident with 2 BMW riders so I want to caution fello riders to stay on the road.

 

Sunday nite ~10pm i was driving out of compass pt towards SLE. While coming to the traffic light for final right turn into SLE, I was on lane 2, signaled right, checked blind spot, check mirror & i realise 2 bikes a distance behind on lane 1. As i start to switch into lane 1, ~100m from the junction I check my mirror again & realised that 2 bike was closing in @Very high speed! I then decided to switch back to lane 2 to avoid any possible 'contact'. While part of my car was still on lane 1 that 2 bikes zooooom pass me, braked hard, right turn @the junction & disappeared into the nite SLE...

 

From the rear i figure it out to be 2 × BMW GS. Fello riders, while ur bike may be big, ur skills mayb good but any contact with a car @high speed may become ur last ride. Ride safe.

Is it particular expensive to service at PML?

 

I heard changing engine oil cost $300 plus.

SDG277 for K1600 engine which uses 4.5L engine oil. 10k servicing.

Two hundreds plus are the normal cost :-( waiting till you reach the 40K servicing you will cry. Lol which is coming to a thousand banana :--(

Does anyone here registered their P.I bikes with JB's PML.. wearnes autohaus?

 

Our GS group do have a number of GS riders paid (Adaption fee) to have their PI BMW to be service in J.B. What do you need to know?
