the bike won't be able to start, den you just engage gear, den clutch in, roll the bike and let go of the clutch, the bike will have the "die" sound when u let go of the clutch too fast. den u kick to neutral, the bike should be able to start now. But best is to get it changed, its the starter carbon worn.

My previous SP and CBR4 were more eye catching to the white ants!

My Zee is low profile to them. :D

Especially if you got stock mirrors on yours..

I've got the rectangle mirrors, but both left and right sides!

How do some of you guys ride with only one side? I felt so handicapped when I only used my only remaining right mirror when my left one dropped. o_O:p

Sorry Bro.. I don't have the MCCT.

DRZs later than 05 have the improved version of the ACCT.

MCCT is good to have if you intend to race the bike.

Most shops in SG sells various types of bikes..

Not necessary buy from shop A, need to service bike at shop A..

For me, the shop that I bought my bike from never touched my bike since it came out the first day..

If buying brand new, buy anywhere is the same..

Just the hire purchase and hidden costs maybe diff..

If buying 2nd hand, find a friend that rides DRZ..

Not sure if Raptor still offering bike checks for DRZ or not..

Who wants me to check out a potential buy DRZ400SM??

Invite the seller to ride the bike down to Raptor MotorSports and let me have a third party look over.

I won't tell you if the bike is worth it or not...that's between you and the seller and the chemistry between you and the machine.

I will just tell the status of the engine and what may need to be fixed or has been neglected. You decide.

But if the seller dares not bring the bike down to let me see...chances are you should reconsider buying the bike.

Heheh... I am such a bad guy.

Are you a trained mechanic? How would you know it's the piston and ring without even opening up to see the wear and tear of the cyclinder wall and piston? Even a well trained mech wouldn't diagose without opening up the cyclinder..

I suggest you bring it to a bike shop to get it check instead of guessing..

A piston and ring costs abt $300 or less..

You still gonna buy gasket, EO, labour for it..

Which might add up to abt $700, which is abt the cost of doing a overhaul..

A good bike shop will include the valve clearance for you, some do not..

If there's nothing wrong with the engine, dun open it..

My friend did a over haul on his 7 years DRZ, the wall and piston are still in great condition, and he regretted spending the money..

The sound maybe be a loose timing chain which only costs abt $200 to replace..
