hi guys,

just receive the abovematter.

to get the fact straight, i hav no intention of evading it, was going to my new workplace, i hav a cashcard in my I.U. and lost my way towards CBD. so like we all gone thru NS navigation. instead of bashing thru jungle, i bash thru the pavement and being caught at Niven road.

talk to the LTA and he tell me to appeal.

rode my bike less than a year

my Q is...hw to appeal?? letter send to which email?..

consturctive feedback pls

cheers!

wow, pretty sticky situation. Consider the fact the ERP is another main source of supplementary income for our government. Your excuse really have to be solid. Because they can charge you for other thing as well? As you are not supposed to ride on pavement.

I agreed with Kano. Just bite the bullet and face the music

I'm curious, since you had no intention of evading ERP. How were you planning to pay the ERP that was due to you?

Very hard for your case. Either way, you are in the wrong. Riding on pavement and evading ERP. I think it better you plead for leniency or appeal for them to summon you for riding on pavement instead. Evading ERP is a more serious offence as garment money cannot cheat de. You cheat them, you pay double.

If you appeal, LTA may charge you for riding on the pavement which is a far more serious offence than evading ERP. The officer is being good by just catching you for evading ERP. Just face the music.

I have been to TP for appeal and from my point of view this officer is a dummy if that cannot answer your question and you think you are in the right he/she will tell you not to paid and go to court and talk to the judge so it a waste of time and if you still want to appeal go to their website and download the appeal form and send to them wait for their reply and tell you all the bullsh...t and you still pay the fine,so as all the bros here said just face the music lah and never argue with Tp.Thank you just an opinion.

Riding on pavement more serious arr? Didn't know that. Then better to be caught evading ERP.

Whatever will be will be..

No point plead for a redhanded offense..

More importantly.. Learnt your lesson.. Do your homework & plan your route in future..

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

I'm still a bit confused as to what happened - you rode past the ERP gantry on the pavement, thus "evading" ERP, right? In this case, you were either:

a) heading into CBD, in which case the traffic on the road was going in the same direction as you. So why take to the pavement? OR

b) heading out of CBD against traffic flow, in which case there's no question of "evading ERP".

Care to elaborate a bit please?

appeal sticky thread http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/81846-How-to-write-a-proper-appeal-to-the-authorities

i dont know if TP will believe ur reason, however like some bro mentioned, if u give this type of reason, they might waive ur erp n charge u for pavement instead. if i'm not wrong could be $70 and/or +3 pt for inconsiderate driving. ur reason given has double edge, so do take note how u phrase it.

edit: i think erp fine is like $10/20 + double erp charge. (correct me if i'm wrong)

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

i think it's A, whereby TS thinks he's lost n decided it's unfair for him to pay erp.

edit: i've also encountered a similar situation as TS, whereby i was a newbie then, got lost and found a erp gantry in my face. what i did was stop by the road side n dig for my cashcard. a few driver looked at me as it was quite a dangerous situation. u know the bend from scotts rd to orchard, sort of in a blind spot area.

There are many ways they can charge you for. Since you travelled for some distance, they can charge you for reckless driving/riding too?

ouch, didnt know was so ex. however ur reason hv a lot of loopholes, going for appeal might land u in worse trouble u r now. they can slap in pavement riding, $70, careless driving 3 or 6 pt + fine, ON TOP of ur erp charge, do take note of this.

i dont know if the $70 is applicable, since it for parking. but they can slap that in.
