ah gui. thats normal. if you feel like its not you can always change. get from WEDA enterprise from rowell road for all your spare parts necessities:

17 Rowell Rd, Singapore 207975

Yes i have the brembo set from an R6. have to use the R6 stock left and right levers as well to fit and make it look nice. best braking ever and has saved my life countless times.

should you wish to feel a difference in braking for cheaper, you can always change to braided stainless steel hose for your front brake. makes yearly bleeding easier as well.

Also the guys having issues about engine dying when idling, this is your air and fuel ratio which is adjusted by the idling pin. a good mechanic will tune your bike to get the perfect tuning and this may take multiple trips depending on the weather.

(sorry very long never come this forum so wanna help as much as i can)

the rust is common as header is not stainless steel. its just made from scrap metals that rust easily. if u really wanna de-rust, do a sand down, clean it and finish off with hi temp spray.

For your information - This morning throttle cable just snap off (Sadly) while riding at PIE before Eunos Exit.

Manage to push the bike all the way to Planet Motor.

Was quote $58 to change the dual throttle cable - sound like chop to me... Correct me if im wrong

Bo pian, consider emergency, so agreed with the price.

Does anyone have reliable workshop to introduce for maintenance and repair at East side...?

Anyway guys, I think my bike may be affected by inaccurate fuel reading. The last time I pump my petrol full tank, the fuel indicator shows 7/8 bar. Yesterday I pump full again shows 7/8. Any remedy for this? and how much would repair cost me?

shd b the float switch in the tank. but it shd not b much of a prob. did u calculate ur bikes fuel consumption? if yes, u can ignore the fuel indicator. its just an indicator. not sure how much to do repair or replacement on that. u can try asking ard.

to calculate ur bike's consumption, from full tank, zero ur trip meter, then ride till the next top up, lets say 450km, then u top up 10 litres, so u use mileage / fuel pumped in litres and u can get 45km/l. so u can do that a couple of times n u know wat is ur bike's fuel consumption range.

Hello guys,

Thanks

modify of rear brake is illegal last i check. Wing yap do it last time, now not sure.

Hello guys! Newbie help needed here!

Just gotten a 2nd hand fz16 (no sure which gen but got kickstarter). Went for servicing and change the few necessary stuffs like spark plug, oil flier, engine oil even change sprocket and chain (as the prev owner didn't take good care of it). Thing is, i noticed there is a leak in my engine oil area. Is it a serious problem? (worried). Are there any solutions available and how much will it typically cost me?

Also, I noticed each time after a ride, when i off my engine there will be a ticking sound (tick...tick....tick...tick) accompanied by sandy-like low noise? Not sure if you guys get my drift. If you do, any solutions? Seems like prev owner really nvr take good care of his bike. Go viewing that time in his carpark quite dim can't see properly and partly also I'm new to this.

I encounter EO leak before, temporary solution is white tape, permanent best re-thread it. I done mine at JB RM40 nia, but is alot simplier way they do it. Tilt my bike, so mechanic can see the drain hole easily, then he use a simple tool to screw the thread into a bigger thread, thus new thread, then he screw back with bigger bolt.

Yes a pair. Size is same as stock tyres, 110 & 140.

Wheel balancing is same as what they do for cars, the rim & tyre is mounted on a machine and small metal weights are attached to the rims to counter any imbalance in the wheels. My front wheel needed some weights while my rear is fine. Overall bike feels smoother at cruising speed.

I went to W**g Y*p at AMK Ave 10. Disclaimer: I'm was a first time customer too as I've just started riding and haven't settle on a regular bike shop.

I just change my fork seal and fork oil(not sure what it call) last two week. after that i hear *wong Wong Wong* sound from the front when about 70-80kmh, is it due to wheel balancing have been upset after the fork seal change?

DID is well know brand as there is O ring between all the joint, so less noise(or no noise at all) while traveling. Beware there are fake DID chain in the market, as my last fake DID chain break on my way home. Change to original DID chain $90 at planet(uncle claim its original, not sure but the one he install for me is thicker than what i had) and yes DID is gold in color. He also claim confirm wont break and less adjustment need to be done. so take his word for it and wait till i got issue then i will go back n F*** him. lol.

sprockets wise i dont go for any brand, just change every 2 chain changing should be fine, sprockets teeth will be widen/wear off after sometime.

I'm using an original FZ1 handlebar. Don't need renthal, protaper and rizoma these kind of nonsense :p

second to that, recently then i found out mine is also FZ1 handlebar(second hand fz16 here). heavier thus steady. Last time i install rizoma handle bar end too, but after that one side drop out, then i change to R6 barend which fit perfectly to my handlebar. last the mirror, rizoma? wait till u try FZ1N or FZ6N original rear mirror, wide enuff, less blind spot, alot steady no vibrate during 70-100kmh, and looks good too!

Hi i just downpayment for a fz16. I have a question. When i went there i asked the salesman (xiao long from m1 motoring) whether is my bike can change to yoshimura pipe. He said can. But when i asked motorworld, they said my model has no street legal pipe. I'm suppose to collect the bike tomorrow, do anyone know whether i can ask for another bike? Because i dont see the point of paying for the bike every month if i dont like it. Need opinion from those experienced.

So i went overseas for 10days and i was stupid not to ask someone to help me warm my bike while i was away. After i get back, i put my keys to ignition but no lights were avail, meaning batt is either dead or low voltage. Managed to push start it and ride for abt an hour. Next morning (5hrs later), bike is able electric start. Is it advisable to charge as u ride or should i charge it using a proper charger? And what batt is recommended should the batt be replaced? Thanks

If next day can electric start means should b ok, no need change battery, it will charge as u ride. Mostly IU is the culprit here, if can ask ur mechanic to change the power lead to start engine not when turn key

2nd Gen FZ16. Carb. Kickstarter. 3-4 years old machine.

I seemed to be having persistent throttle cable issues with this bike.

Original throttle cable (changed twice). Stock throttle set. All OEM parts within the throttle department.

The idling was "low" while starting bike, constantly needing to feather throttle just to keep the bike idle while in Nuetral.

Idling revs up instantly when the handlebar turns to both extremes. Noticed that the throttle cable is "pulled along" hence the revs.

Why?

"Once you try it, you'll LOVE it"

NOTE : Lot of customers been asking what's the difference between Grab On Grip with another brand that's selling @ $30-$35.

Ans :

- 1st of all, Grab on Grip is Made in USA while the other grip is Made in UK. So the difference in currencies. USD vs Pound Sterling

- Difference in QUALITY. No doubt both are EPDM Foam but customers that have used Grab On Grip and have tried the "other brand", eventually came back to use Grab On Grip. Customers claimed that the "other brand" became smelly after using it for awhile and it tends to slip to the balancer causing the throttle to "stuck" which is VERY DANGEROUS. They have never face this problem when using Grab On Grip. Well, expensive things doesn't mean its good.

- Some customers asked how come mine is "cheaper" than the rest ?

Ans : There's no need for me to claim i'm the "dealer/distributor" when the product i sell is 100% Genuine Made in USA.. As a biker, I wanted to share my great experience of using this product for more than 5 years at an affordable price.

Hi guys. will be viewing a 3 year old FZ16ST next coming weekend. Looking to buy to replace my spark 135 cos coe ending in december. Any tips to look out for when inspecting? :)

Wahhh same story bro. Just scrapped my 135. :(

I am sure you know what to look out for having owned a bike before. Anyway here would be my input.

Basic questions you should ask the owner would be the kind of "impact" (if any) the bike had gone through and its maintenance history.

Like any stock 4stroke machines, mine is already 4 years old and is still running strong. No major repairs needed.. yet. Apart from the usual wear and tear issues.

Observe the tyre threads. Make sure all electrical parts work as they should.

For any other visual aspects, I am sure you know what to look out for. :)

This is exciting!

Hahaha not really actually. I bought the spark from my good friend so i didnt really inspect it. It was my first bike.

You own a fz16ST? :)

Update : I might want to renew my coe for my spark tho. Its been with me so long and i dont wanna let it go. I have done so much to it... including 2 major overhauls lol.

Would you guys recommend 5 years or 10 years coe?

If i renew 5 years most probably ill be using the entire 5 years and scrap it.

If i renew 10 years ill change bike around the 4th-5th year mark hahaha.

Any suggestions ? :)
