Hi guys,

my bike has been laid up for quite a while, and the low beam is spoilt. Will it pass inspection? I cant bring it to the mechanics to replace the bulb as the bike is laid up. Should I and how easy is it to change the bulb myself?

Thanks guys.

The bike is a shadow ace 400 btw.

Low beam IS the "normal" light.

The normal Stanley bulbs are quite cheap. Just replace them. For your own safety as well.

Thanks for the prompt reply guys...

yes, the high beam is still working. I'm not sure if they check the low beam as well or if they check, can I tell them that I will replace later?

The bike is laid up, meaning I cant ride it yet... until I got 2A license, buy insurance, tow the bike for inspection, buy road tax ... hence, going to bike shop to replace before the inspection would be impossible unless i buy the bulb home and do it myself ...

just called VICOM ... and I was told that: to pass inspection I would need to fix low beam first before I come as on the road, mostly I wld use low beam only.

So the next question is how to replace the bulb myself ? haha ... is it easy to do?

Very easy lah. Just take out the old bulb and remember how you took it out. Usually it's just unplugging the wire, undoing the clip and then pulling the bulb out. Bring that bulb to a shop and find the same bulb. When you install the new bulb, do NOT touch the glass surface of the bulb or else it will blow very fast. Put it back in the reverse way you took out the old bulb.

Same kind of question, has anybody passed inspection with Stebel (or Hella) horns installed?

A related question, has a two main light side by side as in a scooter. Normally the two lights will be lighted up at the same time, I intend to change one side of the side to HID.

Question is will the bike pass inspection with only one side light on(original lamp), the other side HID is off and can be use only with another switch to operate.

all your lights that should be working must be working...

the lights that they check while inspection..

1. headlight. must have light!

2. tail lights. must have lights! not your brake lights ah...

3. signal lights.

any of them not working = fail.

i just went for inspection today & i failed cos i didnt notice my tail lights not working cos of blown blubs.

all the above are visual test..must pass...

the last section of the test, where they test your alignment of the light...that one is not a compulsory item..fail also nvm...

in short...all must have light!
