classic ah pek bikes like CBF150, and cubs like your spark, wave etc. Price & demand usually quite steady. Bikes like Bajaj Pulsar used to be very popular when it first came in a few years ago. But now reception is somewhat lukewarm.

FZ16 is new in market. Hard to say. Depends on how it actually fares over the next few years. The technical specs of FZ16 is abit last 3-4 years ago.

Just feel kind of iffy on Indian bikes like R15, FZ16... it's like how people think of Korean cars vs Jap cars.

IMHO, Get a spark135...:)

It's has a Radiator (Water Cool) and a miniature Oil filter.

Brought one brand new, had it for 4yrs 3 mths, clock about 28k on it but mainly in Malaysia.

Took the bike round Malaysia (Just for Fun), been as far as Sodao, Carmeroon Highlands, Ipoh....

During my touring on the little fellow, cover distance like 700-900km (18-20hrs) at a go... never had the bike broken down upon me...(Thank GOD!)

Did nothing to it, stock but change Good EO, oil filter and spark plug every 3-4k (Mileage). Service my valve every 10K which cost less than RM500.

I keep it stock, IMO no point to MOD it due to it's small engine Capacity. With me @ 95kg... this little bike still could do 115km/hr (Measured via GPS / On board meter is not accurate ~ showing almost 145km/hr *Yah sure!) on the straights. Fuel mileage was appox 40km per litre.

Over all, never regretted buying one.... Sold it to the Bike Shop for a Superfour (Itchy Backside) & my spark was sold to another party in less than 24hrs!:thumb:

Just my $0.02!

Cheers!

Phantom can literally last forever even if it is bought over in scrapyard-like condition so long as the frame, suspension and engine is good.

Mine scarily never requires repairs or servicing. Just be smart about these bikes and don't do top speed runs with them. That reliability should also be true for most if not all modern 4-stroke 2B bikes; sound maintenance practises are your best friend. Was worth it to DIY restore and use synthetic oil.

Considered selling to get a newer model Korean or Indian bike but then after a 100km shakedown cruise last weekend, sell for what? The bike is bulletproof and is uniquely tuned (DIY).

Not to say 2 strokes are not as reliable, they tend to need more TLC (hint: decarbon exhaust) by their engine design. This was a big factor on my 125Z as after years of use, the thing needs to go into the shop once every 3 months despite having new block, exhaust, gearbox etc. Basically rode the Z until it fell apart.

IMO, most 4 stroke 125/150/200 setup are reliable... you can consider FZ150i, YZF-R125, Wave-X, X-1R, Spark, choose the one which appeals you. Then check back with us on servicing matters, frankly speaking 2B bikes are very economical (*depend on model) high integrity, good fuel consumption, light weight... fun to go about in urbanise SG.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine
