Mediacorp/Local TV productions sucks

I was getting out of the house the other day and noticed my brother watching this local show "Point of Entry"... he said it was some local show putting ICA in the spotlight.

 

Anyway, there was this scene where the cops were raiding the bad guys hideout or something and the fight scenes were just plain horrible. And I mean FRAKKING crappy. Stiff, unrealistic, and very obviously sucky.

 

Local TV scripts are already bad. The acting and conversation is tacky. And even the fight scene sucks donkey balls. What's wrong with the quality of local dramas and shows?

 

Even amateurs on Youtube can produce more interesting fight scenes.

Srsly, Channel 5 and 8 really needs to relook at their writing and acting. I can't bear to watch any local crap without cringing or my hair standing.....

the problem is the people in local tv productions are just working for a living, no passion, so they wun work that hard . Even if they work hard , they doesn't have much life experience to write a good script.

Thats what happens with monopolistic industry, same with political party, thats why so many complains. People need to understand and stop sucking in the sack.

On top of that, low pay, too much censorship, even location shoot, want $$$ this, $$$ that, no support, no incentive to make acting a career here lah. Even if fighting sucks, Bollywood has charisma and its quite funny to watch. Sg, no soul city, money only buys cheap happiness here.

Those robots at Mediacorp have no frakking passion.

They churn out predictable, clean-cut, boring, spitworthy, government-campaign-friendly pieces of crap that pass for drama serials.

eh... it's mostly cos of the censorship. you may be passionate about something but cos of censorship, your passion gets killed when the final output isn't what you envisioned. blame the red tape

the videos you see on youtube are good mostly because the producers are forced to work withnin their budget and have to think "out of the box"

 

ours here is more of, rinse and repeat, use what we already have style. just some minor tweaking here and there, boom, new serial.

i don't find myself allocating time for TV anymore, compared to many years back. i would be looking forward to watching TV back then. even simple programmes like 搞笑行动 or triple 9 were so entertaining, now i only find myself watching the Noose, or turn on the TV for some taiwanese variety show when im eating my food.

 

Worse thing is..... Too many non-singaporeans in our ch 8 dramas. Nothing against non-local artistes, but if local productions consist of too many expatriate artistes, I feel that we might be losing our national identity quicker than we'd expect.

As much as we want to support local stuff, this kind of thing I see... ok... I can't even bring myself to watch it 'cos I'll cringe and hair stand everytime.... how to support???

plots are lame... I think they wana to follow some plots on english drama, leg. CSI, can solve most cases within a day or two, and yes its ridiculous to solve such heavy cases within a very short period of time.. but the quality is so far apart... similarities is they wana make the leader of the team with attitude... like Horatio in CSI miami.... i dunno whether its budget constraint or... juz making a fool on themselves... or just for the sake, like wat TS mention ".....was some local show putting ICA in the spotlight." ..

 

had watch once, the last 15 mins of one of the episodes.. feel so paiseh that we local are producing this kind of lame show.. i guess our country is better on producing like PCK (also getting lamer) and those short sitcoms...

am presently in the land of good cheap food and friendly DVD's... just bought and finished the whole Sons of Anarchy seasons 1-2-3 haha

didn't have time back home to catch it on cable
