basically, a roadblock can be setup anywhere that is deemed suitable. However, there are certain areas they will almost always setup one.

Not only TP do roadblock..

Division also do roadblock..

Basically anywhere , and anytime they will do..

the kind of places you should look out for...

1. after a bend & you cant really see it until you complete the bend....

2. on the top of a slope...

3. at the foot of a slope...

they will put the roadblock at a place where, by the time you see it...you will have no way to avoid them....

Although I've seen a roadblock in an expressway off-ramp. Like the bukit timah and upper serangoon exits. Both with very long off-roads.

Hiz!

Which expressway?

And as for the Serangoon one, I believe he was refering to that long stretch of expressway off-ramp where at the very end, one can turn towards Serangoon or Jalan Besar.

But then again, back to the topic, I do believe roadblock locations are set up at random. While it might seem strategic to the TP side, to us it's still a maybe-will, maybe-will-not-happen event that we might chance upon one.

Back in 2004 when I rode in my family car , there was this Bukit Panjang Ring Road stretch where the police seemed to like to set up this road block -- just beside a neighbourhood school. This, presumably, was made to some unexplained intent as they had it every Sunday for a month. They disappeared after that month.

Pretty sporadic, I must say. Really don't know what they're up to.
