That depends on rare ocassion. Just bought my BB less than a month. Been sourcing around for almost 2 months. 8K for a 2001 BB is a steal, provided is in good working condition. Bike shops are asking around 11-11.5K without insurance and transfer. I have checked out many shops during these 2 months.

Trust me, i have done my homework. Anyway :goodluck: to your hunting for a good deal.

If the shops are asking 11k, the owner probably sold it to them at 9k and below. I know shops don't take in bikes unless they have a profit margin of 2k or more because the transfer fee is already around $400. This is why I'll never buy from shops, only from private owners.

ok I'll shut up now, I just realised I'm "spoiling market" for bb owners, don't want to do that!

Anyone's experienced any overheating problems? Realised once i start going on minor roads, my temp starts to go up and when i'm caught in jams, the needle is almost near the red. My coolant's boiled over 2 times already.

No worries MiddleAgeBiker, nothing about spoilling the market. The reality is the BB is going around for about the price i mentioned.

Some private owners are particular and wants to deal with only with cash. I met a previous owner who only wants hard cash and does not even wants to consider bank loans. Not mentioning any names cos wants to protect owner's privacy. And the price is almost 10K.

Finally closed deal with Gweester and now a contented owner, Thanks Gweester :cheer:

Dear Alvin,

Thanks for your comments. I wish we have more supportive advertisers as our magazine only thrive on advertisers. Unfortunately Suzuki being one of the biggest distributors is not of the opinion of marketing through advertising. I hope this opinion will change as with increased revenues we can bring and afford better coverages and better articles for our readers. I hope you can help voice out the support of a local bike mag as sadly this is the current state and situation (that local bike shops and distributors mostly do not support advertisements). I would love to feature more bike clubs , superbikes , meeting of clubs etc however we do have a bottom line to keep as well due to the lack in revenue. The good news is we are making headway as our readership is increasing and there are gradually but a bit too slowly people who realise the effectiveness of our magazine. I will try to cover yr event if u can confirm the time and location. I hope u can voice our enthusiast support as we are eager to please and be the best bike mag not only in Singapore but the region eventually. Meanwhile Ride safely and Best Regards.

hey guys. just wondering where do you usually service your bikes? i've been to 2 bike shops so far... Planet @ Ubi and Combine Motors @ Sin Ming Autocare. Both are pretty good IMO. Any shops that specialises in EFI models for BB?

KNT huh? Think i heard about that shop before. Oh and Earlybird, can i check with you what your fuel consumption is since yours is the first EFI model which is the same as mine...Cos my consumption on SG roads are really quite bad. 300km INCLUDING reserve with 24L of petrol. Don't think its normal. Any idea why? And Hokage, i'll pm you my number

Posted

dermano, you are lucky! I got only 215km from full tank till first time last bar blinks. Checked with Gweester and he said that consumption was better before. Will be going down to check with K and T about other matters tomorrow, also might ask Clifford. Maybe he can enlighten me.

Is it petrol, i uses 92 octane, how about you or others? :giddy:

Hi Sexyh, Demano,

sorry to hear that u guys r suffering from poor fuel consumption. Might 1 2 check yr tyres pressure. Recommended specs are 290psi for both front and rear. Also are yr CBS working? Got lap after u release yr brake levers? Or cld it be yr throttle control / riding habit be a bit too agressive?

I'm riding the 1st version EFI anolog model, same as Kwan, with both tyres at 290psi, not much agressive riding on SG rds, travel 50% highway, 50% minor rds, 50% traffic jam everyday...bike fully stock except for cosmatic stuff....I'm getting average 305-315km before reserve lights up. Balls big enough only to try out 45km into reserve so far.

I always make sure my tyres are at 290psi and service maintenance done and discipline my riding habits while on SG rds. I think it helps a lot on fuel consumption.

If you see a blue-bird being over-taken by waves and CB4, most likely its me. WAVE!!
