spec 2, vtec opens at a earlier rpm, spec 3 opens later. go to the cb400 threads and do a search. plenty have pple have answered this before.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

yeah, this was one of the differences brought up when i asked which spec version to get. spec 2 Vtec opens at earlier rpm compared to spec 3 and that equates to slightly higher FC during road usage.

Taxi bike, hell alot on street and hell alot been sold

Sporty retro styling highly versatile with much needed power on the road.

CB400SF Hyper VTEC Spec 2 first to integrate HISS, following that all SF comes with it.

Gotta lurve its wide seat, big lovely mirror, dual analog clock...

Can never go wrong with a s4. If maintained well the engine is bulletproof. Between spec 2 and 3, just the styling and vtec opening. Some ppl say if open vtec alot will use more fuel. I find my Ver S fuel consumption higher then spec 2 or 3 lol. FC is very subjective.

Whatever you buy just check the cooling system and the engine condition and also the wear and tear parts. Buy from a shop that gives warranty.

Personally don't like the look of it but in terms of functionality and purpose, it delivers. Rather good FC, ample power in terms of pick up and top end, doesn't look retarded with a box, uncles can ride it and look like uncles, young people can ride it and look young, lots of accessories, spares, legal mods, also quite reliable: one piston jam, still got 3.

hi, can anyone enlightened me on revo? i bought a revo recently but realise that rpm during idling is very high, around1500rpm. is it normal to be at such high rpm? i used to ride spec 3, but is very smooth and quite, however i ask the bike shop, the mechanic told me that the rpm can't be lower or else engine will stall. is it true?

1500 rpm when idling is normal for a revo. the rpm can be lower manually by the mechanics. Whether it will stall the bike or not, i am not so sure. Btw, is your revo damn ****ing hot on both sides?

the revos used in bbdc gets hot in the crotch region LOL. they were saying that there are some issues with the EFI and its something inherent. not too sure about that.

Cool start Idle rpm is ~2000rpm. Then 1400rpm after fully warm-up.

I did ask Boon Siew about lowing the idling rpm but they said this will cause some problems and it's recommended be so high.

I also suspect this also cause huge heat issue on the bike when stuck in traffic jam on a hot day. The heat can cook your balls (for boys). A bit regret on getting revo in this situation.

My friend's gsr-400 runs very cool compare to mine. He shock on the heat from engine as we did a change over short drive to city area

I believe the radiator for Revo needs to be bigger for the extra heat from high idling rpm. Now I'm trying to search for aftermarket radiator to reduce the heat.... God bless me...

If you sticked to S4, and always jam in traffic, I suggest Spec III. If only highway traveling, revo is OK.

Just my opinion....

Check with HKL or unique motorsports for aftermarket radiators.........should you found something applicable, please share. I getting my revo soon....

Having a bigger radiator won't help at all I think. Only when air flows through the radiator, does it do it's job. No point putting a fan in front of the radiator to blow air through it during stationary anyway. The hot air has to go somewhere, and that somewhere is straight to you.

The main problem is the high idling and the only way to reduce heat in heavy traffic or at idle is to lower the idling.

Till some company comes up with a different map for the ECU (or a different ECU) there is nothing that we can do.

It's your damn bike, wash it yourself! You rinse your own mouth after you eat, don't you?

dun really like the looks as well.

fc wise, seriously for a 2a bike its soso only.

doesn't look retarded with a box only because plenty of pple have it. to me i think its a psychological thing in this aspect, the more pple have it the more normal it looks.

Imo roadbikes with box doesn't look wrong, some put it on, some don't, sport bike with box looks wrong but some still put.

Yes its a psychological thing, so is the reasoning to ride a sportbike in the street or a class 2A and class 2 for that matter since a kupchai practically serves the purpose of transport in Singapore.

not much diff between spec2 and 3, other then the vtec opening, the meter and the obvious tail difference (which can put fixed on spec2)

About s4 it's a good bike, rode 1 for 3 years... never gave any major problem during my ownership. It's quite an overrated bike tho, I definitely won't mind riding one again but if I have to choose to ride an inline 4 400cc bike again, I would go with gsr4...
