I have more than 10 years driving experience and I can still get lost. It's part and parcel of a motorist's life.

experience does not help you not to get lost, it the familiarization of Sg roads that help you to stay on track.

if you belong to ppl like me who not familiar with Sg roads, a GPS with greatly help you a lot.:cheeky:

Had a super long day today, out from 8 to 8 today, was late for CR but the instructor was ok with it.

I can say this is perhaps my best ever session, unlock even more 'secrets' to cornering. Finally had the guts to throttle all the way for fig-8. Crank course was ok, but nt sure if my body posture was too extreme cos I was bending real low. Slalom was good, finally I can emulate the instructor by swerving the bike right and left.

The secret: It is all about the eye-point, sense and confidence.

Congrats...58 passes over 81. 9 were absent. I think i can remember who u are..

Btw, i'm the youngest looking instructor at the Classroom, while awaiting ur results. :thumb:

Cool. Well I think all the instructors at SSDC are pretty good, although some are a bit serious like its the army. Maybe its the Singapore culture.

I did get a smile from Mr Hasli yesterday when I said thank you to him, but he may just have been remembering how he failed me on Lesson 3 :)

It must be a good job for getting the chicks though ;)

I passed 2B test today. First attempt.......but it has taken me almost a year and many cancelled lessons due to my job which requires travel overseas at short notice.

I found the instructors to be excellent. The test was fairly easy after the strictness of the instructors when I attempted to clear each lesson.

And for anyone else who took their test today.....I stood out from the crowd as the only Ang Moh

I think there were something like 51 passes out of the 90 who took the test today

Hello, I saw you. You weren't in the room during the announcing. My friend, Tag 7, Old Uncle, was looking out for u. Anyway, I passed too! Congrats to u. Seeya at woodlands on Jun 18th 2010.

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.

I was right at the back bro. Was no.7 the old Malay guy? We had a bit of a 'discussion' during the road training the day before after he beeped his horn at me. My first road rage :p

Congrats to you too.

Good luck bro. The worst part is the anticipation of the test. Once you get into it its not so bad. I found Lesson 5 much worse. Probably failing that lesson a few times helped me in the long run - not to be too over confident - and to go for the circuit revision more times. What happens on the road with regards to other traffic is not in your control - but the circuit is just between you and the circuit so if you get good at that you can afford to lose a few points on the road. My two cents.

The testers are all old gents too. Maybe they can appreciate that us more mature dudes are not likely to be so reckless on the road as we have got past the thinking of our teens and twenties that we are immortal. I never rode particularly fast on the road (but not too slow either) and at every road lesson or revision session there would be a young guy riding behind me so close - trying to guess what aftershave I am using or something. Whats the rush dude? Rushing to fail by not maintaining a safe following distance?

i thought can just clutch in and press starter?

haha come to think of that now i want to try... :p

I honestly don't think many people will be able to react quickly enough to do all that while at the same time maintaining their balance on the plank... Possible, yes, but not very likely at all.

14 but who's counting? :)

I made one huge f**k up leaving the test centre - almost going into the wrong lane - lucklily the tester only gave me 2 points for a wide turn

I thought I had failed for sure on that one. Maybe he gave me a break because I am an old man at 36 yrs old - compared to a lot of the other riders.

Anyway its a lot on luck I think - I was very lucky on the traffic situation at both the U turn and the right turn by AMK hospital.

Now I am looking to buy a Honda Phantom as I am a fat *******. Erm I mean big size

I was so pleased I made the narrow plank - that was my nemesis during lesson 5 and caused me to repeat that lesson twice.

Congrats dude! Sorry to have been the cause of you even considering the possibility of falling off the plank... :p

Oh by the way you might wanna consider the Shadow instead. It's a bit wider to, uh... better complement you. Ahem. ;)

It is possible. I've seen class 2/2A riders doin this at the bumpy course before.

Apples and oranges, I feel. Comparing 2B riders on the narrow plank to 2/2A riders on the bumpy course... Different levels of riding experience on different bikes doing different courses.

Just outta curiosity, have you ever seen anyone (regardless of class 2B/2A/2) restart a stalled bike and then successfully complete the narrow plank course?

It will be easier to switch on the bike on the plank. All you need to do is maintain speed and clutch in fully to allow the bike to glide. On a bumpy course, other than trying not to fall, you lose all control over the speed until you switch the bike on. Which is quite tough when you have to go over bumps.

I think the 2A bike is still okay. I heard the Class 2 hydraulic clutch is really chia lat.

i'm not comparing. Just sharing what i saw.

Yes, i've seen a 2B rider, stalled his engine, and manage to complete the plank.

He was holding on his rear brake too much, and before he could clutch in, the engine stalled. So just as he clutch in, the bike free wheeled, with whatever momentum left over on the speed of the bike, he manage to start the bike, then continue to move thur the plank. Fortunate for him Because, not all bikes can start with the clutch in. Some bikes have to engage N to start.

Anyone else going for TP on 30 Jul?

I've got an entire revision schedule planned out, except that I still stand a good chance of screwing up on the test day itself. Have a tendency to do spastic things when nervous.

Just a quick question guys!

If someone cancel their theory test date for TP, will their slot be released for booking in the SSDC system? Cause the idea of havin to wait a month for test date is not very nice haha.

Everything pass nice and fast then kena a wall, sian.
