oh...this is an optional pillion riding experience...they only had 8 places...and we rode pillion out on the streets from SSDC in YCK all the way to the new SSDC site in Woodlands...and back. was a good experience. though if anyone who is taking test thinking of taking it...be sure to get a pillion whom you trust enough...cos i almost died on the way back riding as a pillion :-)

means with the L plate or P plate, any number tag?

sounds fun though..

i hope when my turn comes, there is individual riding to the new site. i'm still not v.comfy being pillioned by "strangers".

anyway, where's the new location at wdls? near mrt?

actually, we were using P plates and a tag that says "SSDC Pillion Riding". am not exactly sure of the location but i think its near woodlands ave 8. its still being built and is near a big temple...dunno which temple though. wasn't really paying attention :-)

the new place looks pretty big. the motorcycle training circuit will be on the third floor it seems. that should be nice and breezy (hopefully).

most people will not stay for the pillion riding as its another hour wait after you get your results. but i do think it is worth the while.

is this a new thing? as best as i rmb back when i passed in march, there was no such optional pillion riding... all those who passed just stay inside the room watch the video, take that pledge and after that just go out to apply for the licence card.

just a little sidetrack, anyone who got their own ride after passing finds the sch bike (CG125) underpowered? i sure do. my current ride is a TA150. the power increase is substantial.

Class 2B - 26/03/2009

Class 2A - 01/06/2010

Class 3 - 10/07/2009

Rides(s)

1) Honda TA150 - 20/04/2009 to 31/08/2014

2) Honda CB400 Ver S - 12/07/2014 to ???

I failed Sir, so will get to see you again in SSDC :)

what happened? one of the folks i was speaking with while waiting fell off the narrow plank. poor guy. especially since i knew he and his friend was there the ENTIRE day wednesday doing CR. i saw them when i was doing 1:05pm CR, and they were still there when i went for my 8:10pm RR.

hi, corse/ Mr Julian, can i ask you what is defensive riding all about? would u recommend new riders to take up the defensive riding course and why? i've been on the roads for 3 months plus so i still consider myself as a fairly new rider. there've been countless times which im forced to take evasive action caused by other road users. will the defensive riding course polish my riding skills and better equip myself as to prevent myself from being involved in an accident?

I clip the last plyon...just slightly. I was so stupid to try something new on the plyom salom. I got 14 points ( 6 for wobbling) which is strange as I always move off fast and straight. I got one for wrong checking of blind spot. Maybe I checked too late.

in the briefing room we were told that the defensive riding course will help us be way better in our ability to handle our bikes, as well as the situation on the roads. unfortunately, i get the idea that there is limited space and we need to sign up as a group. am definitely going to sign up. only thing is not sure if i can sign up individually.

also...i can never figure out who "Corse" is...hmmmm...

Anyone up for Defensive Riding Course? I'll have to attend it so that I can ride to camp.

I've never conducted the Defensive Riding Course myself.

I would say, some riders find it interesting with new things to learn.

And some riders find it normal lor.

If u dont mind spending some money for it, then go ahead and try it out.

If there is any rider here, who have been thru the Defensive Riding Course, pls comment your views about it here.

IMHO, Dont go for half day Defensive Riding Course, go for a full day instead if money is no issue.

Half day course is too short and theories cover about 70% of the course time. so basically, left 30% time for practical which i personally dont feel that is enough.

A second of precaution is an hour of safety. It never hurts to ask.
