I'm selling my 1-yr Silverwing to buy a 7-yr FJR for about break-even. It's the experiences I go for.

So no pain to give up a comfortable maxi scooter for a big tourer

there's a thread regarding this ....

I see many people wants to buy brand new bike from 2B, 2A and class 2..

and most bought with loan plans and heavy interest rate..

but then i hardly see anyone ride until loan finish but shortly sell off again in Garage Sale..

so.. the question is "why people buy brand new bike.. when they can buy cheaper second (or third) hand."

2B.. people rush to buy RS125, R15, Derbi, .. even phantom, i once knew people pay 6k for brand new phantom and sell again 1 year later at less than half the price.

2A.. there are tons of super 4 in garage sale yet they go for brand new.. and sell again 1 year later.

Same for GSR..

2.. i hardly meet any rider who owns brand new bike for 10 years.

you can find many 1 year old bikes in garage sale.. selling at loss, even on machine price, let alone interest that added for loan period..

mostly on sports bikes.. which depreciates crazily yet people still go for them.

anyone can share some thoughts ? :shy:

i think some buyers buy these machines on impulse?? lol but then again, singaporeans do buy stuff on impulse.

anyway some of my biker friends seem to feel that for class 2 bikes, you are better off buying 1st hand. something about having a fresh bike to start with with minimal problems :)

Very subjective abt 2nd hand or event 3rd hand class 2bike.. Generally class 2 bike hardly breaks down as its hardly being push to its max unless u allways go track or keep revving unnecesserly.. My 2 cents worth.

For ure ques its depends on budget. No point spent so much but no $$$ left to enjoy riding..

buy new first hand. it always feel good to own a new piece of machine and of cos own it for 2-3 years before changing it again

With past two 2nd hand bike experience, say NO to 2nd hand machine.

hi guys should i get a brand new or 2nd hand class 2 bike if i intend to ride it for 4-5 yrs. which one will i lose more money out in the long run

whats the pros and cons

depends if you'll be going for long distance touring, its better to buy it new if you dun want any break-downs...

by looking at the price of japanese bikes now, the value is constantly going up, so no worries abt loosing much money when you sell...

very untrue, all bikes breaks down. and when cl2 bikes break-down, it'll cost you alot...

Whatever bike you choose, just don't bite off more than u can chew. Petrol, maintenance, oil change, poison etc must be factored into consideration.

So far , i nvr felt a brand new bike. From my point of view, the price diff can buy aftermarket stuff. So me will go with 2nd hand anytime. Even for cars. Trucks

N if u scared about the maintenance. Parts expensive etc then i really guess u r not yet ready for it.

Class 2, I'd go for new. The others, 2nd hand unless its a very low mileage class 2.

Simple, I don't want and I don't like to play guess which part will break down next because class 2 parts expensive.
