Motoworld at Lavender or Kaki Bukit is one of the best place to get armoured jacket. If not, Regina at Jalan Besar.

agree re motoworld. they carry brands like komine or rs taichi, and should have one to suit your taste and requirements. affordable too. for sg weather, u may really want to consider the mesh jackets. bought 2 from them already. dun bother to pm them as it is always better to go down to see and try the choices in the flesh.

for the full works, add in a rs taichi raincoat/pants - confirmed dry dry in the rain. experienced the heaviest rain - one that i cannot really see what's infront of the bike on the highway - body totally dry but waist down totally wet because gey kiang, never bring rainpants... :(

check them out. value for money.

What about ladies riders?

Where to get gears?

Go for american brands such as Teknic, tourmaster and fieldsheer. They carry ladies range for their jackets and pants

yes, dress for a fall and not for looks. I always wear a mesh jacket and a proper covered up shoes when I ride. Prevention better then cure. Although it may be hot wearing a jacket in our hot weather but be safe then not at all.

go to sportsbiketrackgear.com and you might be able to catch some good close out offers. though currently the greenback is gaining strength and the shipping cost is abit expensive and trying out the sizing might be an issue. but it definitely give you more choices between mesh, armoured, leather etc.

here's some rough prices...

motoworld komine jk12 mesh armoured jacket is ard $120...

drymaster rain gear $150

drymaster x rain gear $230

Jurong west got 1 shop selling mesh and armoured rain gear...

removeable knox paddings...

their mesh is $100

rain gear $100 with armour,$70 without...

same paddings used for the rain and mesh jacket...

slightly on the bulky side...

not too bad quality...

i am using the mesh jacket from the jurong west shop but i swapped out the original knox back protecter with the komine inner back protecter as it is smaller and easier for me to keep...

As above Motoworld Kaki Bukit is recommended because of the wide variety of riding gear you can try on with no hassle, price range $120 onwards. Even the lower priced Komine jackets at $130+ fit well and offer great weather and ballistic protection. Kevlar, leather and other exotic designs/materials are the ones that fetch a bigger price tag of $300 +. Which is decent because these are specially made for motorcycling and have superior protection the further up the price range you go.

Not like in the olden days, jacket = Harley kind = $1000 plus.

I got a few of the $150 ones at a discount price earlier this month.
