Roof , airoh are one nice but noisy helmets. Noise are worst fron a open face helmets.

how long is the shipping? I have the version 1 Roof from designerhelmets 10 yrs ago. shipping was $35 GPB then.

thinking of the v8 too, seems to have better ventilation

i did know very well the older roof boxer, but the new boxer v8 should have a good ventilation and several improvements.

received my roof last week. better than my original with the new vents. there was free shipping from roofboxer-helmet so could not refuse. the one i bought 10 yrs ago i paid over 35 pounds for shipping. the joke is that i have no operational bike at the moment.

able to share how much u got your Roof for? Is it the V8?

Quite interested in the design of the helmet but the review of the helmet like not very good, esp the noise level. So what makes u get the helmet? The design win u over?

i got it for below 300 pounds. 29something. + free shipping cannot refuse. i got the black shadow.

i agree it is not the quietest. the first version didnt even have vents. but nothing beats open face for field of vision except half caps (haha). riding with a full face all the time reduces field of vision. but when it rains you can convert it to full face and protect the chin. u know it can hurt real bad when u are riding at speed and the rain hits u like needles. easier to put on than a full face. i use it more than my rx7.

Let me share my experience with my Roof helmet

I bought the original Roof boxer, now known as Roof Boxer Classic from UK, at least 5 years back. It was not cheap but price was secondary as I really like the design.

 

What I really dislike was the snap-on button that held the flip-up down, and it took sometime to get use to it. And even till now, I have to do it without gloves on. I was prepared to live with this deficiency as I rarely use it.

 

When others complained Roof helmets are noisy, what are they being compared with ? My Roof Boxer, is quieter than my Shoei Hornet, and about the same as my Nolan N100.

 

Few months back, I thought of my Roof Boxer so I took it off the shelf to wear it, and I found the interior linings all disintegrated. So I took it to a reputable helmet shop for a make over. When it was done, I took it home, and found one side of the plastic piece with the snap-on button broke, of course the shop took no responsibility.

 

So I emailed Roof in France and enquired about buying a replacement part. Their English was limited but with a few emails with pics, I got my message across. They asked for my address, then a few days later, in my mail was a small envelop from Roof, and in it contained not one but the plastic piece for both sides. I emailed to thank them for the parts and asked how much, they replied it was FOC, including shipping. That took my respect for them to a totally different level.

 

Now I am thinking of getting a Black Shadow too.
