A couple of weeks ago, my front brake pads was almost worn off (cbr1000rr) hence I went down to LAB to look for some cheap brake pads.

Was recommended 2 pairs of some unknown brand ($28 total for both front disc brake), and they make a lot of squeaky noisy even with little tap on the brakes. Worst still, during wet weather it performs very bad.

Finally today, I went to get a genuine pair of honda front brake pads for $140 total for both front disc brake. It comes with heat insulators too. I think although the price is about 5 times more, the performance is much better and it don't have that irritating noises. :)

Moral of the story, do more research and don't save on such items on safety issues.

Life is good.

hey guys, need help. wanna change my brake pad for my revo. any recommendation beside ebc?? thanx in advance!

bro, if u want good stopping power, get those sintered brake pads like EBC , Braking, SBS or versah. Saw Motoworld selling SBS sintered brake pads and is quite cheap about $30 to $40 for a caliper.

Cheap compromise on performance especially durin wet weather. Invest on quality brakepads. Vesrah is gd and affordable. Wet weather is still gd. I will go for vesrah ebc braking and oem pads. So far this 3 brands never fail me. But most performance pads makes ur disc lifespan shorter. Squeaking sound is either brakepad dust, warp disc and spoil caliper piston seal. Best every pad bleed ur brake fluid and clean the piston. But the worst pad that eats up my disc was ferrodo pads. But performance pads last longer and eats up ur disc. Rear pads juz use organic pads not hh compound as it will lock and skid ur rear wheel easily. Any lobang for fjr1300 pads? Front wheel needs 4 pairs!!! Total 8 pads. Damn.

U have new piaggio goldfren and used oem r608 pads if any of u guys need. Price will include installation.

FOR me, I always have this thinking in my Mindset. BRAKEs and Tyre are very very important on Bikes. so for me, no matter what. i will get a quality brakepad or tyre for my bike...u may save here and there when u use a cheaper item, but what if one day u need the brakes very badly and u did not brake in time, it will cost u even more. not saying EBC sure will stop la. but at least there will be a shorter stopping distance which increase your chances :)

therefore i'm using EBC brakepad and M5 Tyre and I'm not having any regrets up to now.. :) CHeers!!

Hi riders I've got a question on my FZ-6 breaking system hopping you guys can help me. The situation I face was when i try to go to about 170-180 and from there i slow down, my rear breaking system will become useless it's like totally no break at all. So I would like to know if any riders out there had encounter this incident too? And does any of you know how much does the Brembo rear brake callipers cost for FZ-6? Appreciate if any riders can give me some comment. Thanks :)

First of all, did u ever service (Take out the whole rear brake and clean with brake cleaner) your brakes before??? when was the last time u change your brake fluid??? what brand and type of brake pads u are using now???? I am using stock brakes on my FZ1 with HEL brakelines and OEM brakepads and so far the brake are ok. Sometimes , the types of brakpads u use can make a lot of different when u need to brake hard.
