For SMSA Underbone championship at Johor,

1. Chassis must be standard

2. Swing-arm no drilling allowed

3. Carburetor is Free for Mods

4. Wheels are Free for Mods

5. Fuel tank must be standard with ORIGINAL MOUNTING

6. ENGINE is FREE for Mods ( I guess that means big bore-kit no problem, which makes capacity restrictions redundant)

7. Wire Harness and CDI Free for mods.

*mods=modifications

That's it... Go for it...!

No novice for underbone.... all riders under 'open' catagory.

Just Heads up for new comers... abit naggy but gotta say. NEW COMPETITOR, PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ IF YOU NO EXPERIENCE OF PROCEEDINGS.

For the SMSA championship. 2 types of race event as we piggy back on Johor Circuit event- Malaysia Race Series(MRS) & Clubman.

Date / EVENT

27-29 APRIL MRS1-------------SMSA Rd1

10 JUNE CLUBMAN1-----------SMSA Rd2

14/15 JULY MRS2---------------SMSA Rd3

12 AUGUST CLUBMAN2--------SMSA Rd4

18 NOVEMBER CLUBMAN3-----SMSA Rd5

23 DECEMBER CLUBMAN4-----SMSA Rd6

Will post the championship points system once I get it.

Differences: MRS has:

1. Official Timing, Clubman nil.

2. MRS 20min Qualifying on SATURDAY---Clubman 8 , 5lap HEAT, 10 lap race. All on SUNDAY.

3. 10 lap race on SUNDAY.

4. MRS no free Pit garages at all---Clubman's got 2 front communal for all riders.

5. MRS entry fee pay direct to JOHOR---Clubman, smsa can collect on behalf.

MRS: Things to look out for and "must dos".

Pre-RACE: after completing your competition licence and admin...

1. Pay Entry Fee at Johor Circuit

2. Fill up MRS ENTRY FORM and ENDORSE at SMSA. ok, all set!

SATURDAY-QUALIFYING

1. Register presence at offiice and collect your pit passes, scrutineering form, submit entry forms and GET A COPY OF THE DAY's SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS(so you'll know time line).

2.Scrutineering, johor circuit officials will check track worthiness of bike and rider. no leaking anywhere, big enough race number sticker...etc.. Riders to bring riding gear-SUIT, BOOTS, GLOVES, HELMET WITH bike to scrutineering area for sighting.

3. Rider's Briefing,so make your self available. Normally around 10am.

4. Relax and wait for qualifying. Standby cutter and pliers to attach laptimer supplied by Johor Circuit.

5. 5-10 mins before qualifying, release tyre pressure and go for it!

6. When done, go office collect qualifying result and get stressed up.... hahaha!!!

7. Final preparation of machine. When done, pump up tyres again for race on tmw. Go back S'pore or stay Johor eat seafood, up to u. Sleep tight!

SUNDAY-RACE DAY

1. Come early, watch others race, chit chat with other rider, tease your fellow competitor, relax. Drink lots of fluid, go toilet many time, basically wait for you turn to party.

2. Time's up, go race, stay cool and in the 1st few laps, stay calm(try) and tell yourself, the race is LONG.... many chance to overtake fellow PESKY competitors(10 laps x 12 turn= 120 chances).

3. Please stay upright. I sore loser but lose also must swallow, next race then fight...Fall down backside and pocket both pain. tell yourself Valentino also can lose sometimes...

4. Collect race result, be amazed at how u manage to ride so faster than practice, with so much control, so suddenly. Trade stories, pack up, go home smiling.

I know many riders worried about using 1 set of tyres. Don't worry, the tyres will hold. Just qualify less, final race more important. Second, set a target laptime. Pit in once u hit it or pit in anyway to conserve tyres. I do max 5 laps. 1 warm-up, 2 fast(3 if mistake),1 pit-in lap.

Please bring basic tools if u want to remove anything from bike(lights, mirrors..etc..). MOST IMPORTANT, YOUR OWN TYRE PRESSURE GAUGE..Pls...

Want to cut costs some more, share accomodations(good company) and pit rentals with fellow competitors.

We have quite good response so far, may even get to split to seperate grids for 400 and OPEn class. Thanks to all competitors for getting the ball rolling to a hopefully successful season(and many more...) and stepping up!

Email me or any other competitor if need help, surely they help u.

does anybody knows how many ppl have registered? for 400cc below and open? for expert and novice?

250-400cc category sure got competitor, they are just waiting. If you are keen just sign up.

No expert/ novice category unless there is overwhelming response. Not to worry, only 2-3 expert riders. Mostly are novice riders.

The sport has always been alive...thank goodness... The people helping out back(10+ yrs?) then are still around and still giving a hand. Misters'- :WAN, Peter, Shah, Anour, Chia bros, Fabian, Ong... just to name a few.

Basically encouraging that many locals(they keeping sport alive too) are using the machines as manufacturers intended in a safe(er) location. The new generation SMSA competition secretaries(motorcycles) helps a great deal being open to ideas.

It's nice to have many more riders visiting short circuits more than say, in the last 5 years. The growth in awareness is the main target. It 's only the competitive side(which leads to the better overall standard of riding; safer, faster, knowledge between fact & not ...etc?) that needs a little push and hopefully we go in good direction, with or without a permanent circuit, asphalt, dirt , world-class or otherwise.

if MRS no free pits....... then how much we have to pay for the pit garage?

I rememberd it's something like Rm400? So 4-5 riders can split.. book soon with johor Circuit.
