Is there any way to let my bike from being stolen ?

you can prevent theft from joy rider and opportunity thief which look for easy traget. use additonal locks, bike cover or even an alarm. in singapore, that is pretty much enough.

if you are expose to professional or organise crime gang which steal bikes for a lving, once your bikes is being trageted, there is nothing much you can do. you really do need a good insurance in those area. additional sercurity features and parking in a safe area might deter or slow down them.

yeap. cannot prevent, only deter.

cause if the theif is really determined enough to steal your bike, he will steal it. your only hope is to delay him enough till he gives up.

I've even heard of Goldwings being stolen withnin the house's compound when owner left for holiday. but in malaysia la. Apparently a crane was involved.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

Can... stay in a condo, lock up your bike and leave it there permanently

if you are staying in condo up north, the sercurity guard might alert their partner there is an unattended bike sitting there nicely for them to take:cool:

one of my friend staying in malaysia have his gate broke open and bike pushed up a van while he can only watch in vain. even if you see them doing it, what can you do? that how bad it is up north.

after claiming insurance, he lost about SGD 9K.

In singapore its pretty safe, usually just use ur handlebar lock and maybe an additional brake disc lock or motorcycle alarm will do just fine to deter thieves.... But if u go to malaysia den different story already... So in the end whatever physical form of security still doesnt beat monetary ones. Go for at least TPFT insurance.

buy a gps tracking device similar to those installed on cars. That way, can assist the authorities in tracking them down hopefully within a few hours. Chances are the shorter the time period(stolen to tracking it/reporting to police), the less time for the thief to react.

just came back from china and watched their version of crime watch. those guys make house breaking, stealing bikes and cars look so easy. i guess most of us are not prepare to protect our properties if facing thief with those capabliltiy. they even have remote car alarm controller jammer which will prevent the cars in the affected area from locking and activating the alarm if you are not careful.
