buy from private sellers in garage sales. its so much cheaper and simple, that is assuming if the bike is sold at a reasonable market price.

unless you need a loan then buy from shop. shop usually charge so much more, since they are doing a business.

Congrats on passing. Don't rush into buying. Shop around and go with a friend who is experienced.

When i got my license, i waited a full 3 months before i got my bike. I spent my time asking around, harassing my experienced biker friends and all that. You can tell between those who are passionate and those who are not. Those who were passionate and experienced enough, never got bored of me bugging them. I told them what i wanted. Cheap, fuel efficient, cheap to insure, cheap spare parts and cheap to repair, even by myself. Everything cheap. I needed to travel long and i had a bad back. So they narrowed it down to second hand dispatch bikes for me.

4-stroke Kapcai or street bikes. In the end, i try kapcai, dont like. So street bikes. Narrowed down between the CBF150, YBR125, CG125 and the GN/EN125. So in the end, got a YBR because the CBF was new at that time and slightly expensive and the CG was not so common and they were rare because if someone bought it. they had no intention to sell those because it was a solid bike to start with. In the end, got the YBR.

The point i'm making here is that you need to know what you want in the first place. Weigh the pros and cons. Don't have rider friends? Find rider friends to talk with. They will be more than happy to talk with. by knowing what you want, they or we here in SBF can help you decide what you want. Keep your choices open. Don't see bike and faster want to pay. Take you own time. Think about it carefully.

Dun b surprised bro, mmg byk org giler... Nak murah tapi bagus... Hahaha... Niwae, wateva bike u get, with proper maintanence n riding attics, e bike will serve its purpose for a very long period... But if kemut n kedekut aka haji bakhil on parts n servicing n whack ur bike to e extreme, no matter how good ur bike, consperm wnt last long...

Get bike from reputable bikeshops... I can only recommend loois motor coz so far no prob with them.. E otr price they quote r truly otr.. Juz pay downpayment, dats all... Unlike some shops, quote otr price cheaper but after sign e agreement n paid e downpayment then they ask u to pay for e insurance... There r such shops so beware... :)

Eh i appear to be cheapo because its better than appearing to be having no money! :cheeky: Its just a matter of perception la bro. I'm a very pragmatic person. My needs at this point in my life is like that. Save money, low cost and maintenance. Once i get a REAL job, then must change to a slightly bigger, more expensive bike. For the face value.

I agree with this. You want cheap, fast and good. You can only choose two of each. You must be prepared before you buy. As for me, i take care, don't take care, still something minor will spoil. So in the end i bo chap also no difference. Still spoil. Spoil also all the minor minor things la, like light bulb blow, mostly all the nonsense electrical stuff. If you know how to DIY, then its cheap for you. If you don't know, stay away from bikes like this. You will pay much more for the mechanic labour change for 5 bucks including bulb as compared you buy the 50 cent bulb and change yourself.
