Frankly... Discounting those who goes track, trail or touring who needs helmets for the specific use, for those local ride only type of riders, I would still say minimum is 2 helmets. Alternate use the 2 helmets so first of all it won't smell (as much) and also helmet will also last longer. Also in case the one u wearing get damaged like visor broke, strap tear or worse helmet kena stunted, u'll still have a spare.

Talking about smell, i haven washed my inner linings and cushions since i bought my helmet which was about 8 months. Maybe i should start a post on "How long haven you washed your helmet liners?" Hahahaa....but i don't think they smell too bad though :p

Side line question, when u wash your liners, will they lose their "cushion-ny-ness"?

Can just buy those head covers. Then e sweat wont go to ur helmet so much. And if u ve a box, just dun leave it in e box every night. :)

Agree on not to put helmet for extended period of time as the smell will be horrible.

I always bring home my helmet and rest it upside down with the cushion facing upwards for ventilation with ceiling fan blowing.

And yes I always wear a head buff too.
