the water in radiator must be fully filled.. in the sense that the water level is at the brim of the opening..

the normal operation temp is 75 to 95..

that y there is a warning stated that nv open the cap while the radiator is hot..

if the coolant expand more than the cap is designed for, the water will flow to the reservoir.. that y u will notice a tube links the radiator and the reservoir..

there is a marking on the reservoir to state the upper and lower level..

if there is no problem to the bike, fully filled reservoir will juz spill the excess coolant thru the drain tube and back within its range.. while too little coolant will risk of lack of coolant to fill the radiator from the reservoir..

for smaller bike there is no temp control device while bigger bikes do.. if the temp increase up to 121, the bike will auto stop the engine from running to avoid damage to the engine, piston, block..

as the thermometer of the bike is located at the cooling system in a sense if there is too little water, the thermometer reads is the temp of the air in it not the coolant.. therefore the readings may not be rite..

 

oh..

so in this case you are sayin somewhere in the cooling system is choked and coolant unable to go back to the reservoir?

then say so earlier lar ? haiyoh ..

 

and i dont think the thermometer will be located at the top of the radiator?

most likely bottom of the radiator.. so chances for takin temp for air is very unlikely dun u think so ?

start up ur bike ...

let the excess flow out while u throttle ur bike..

bike warmed up liaoz .. then put back the cap

the bike will not cool down very fast..

instead, u will cause the bike to overheat easily and piston seize..

wrong medicine for the sickness..
