Hey guys, I'm riding a RX-K and I keep skidding in the carpark on rainy days and the floor is wet. The floor is like the MSCP kind, and I don't understand why I keep skidding when doing a turn...Keep breaking my brake lever cause of that. Is this normal? My tires look OK, but then I'm a P plater so I'm not sure if my judgement is correct...would appreciate any help :(

When I turn I try not to lean, rather I keep the bike straight as possible and turn by only using the handle bars. Also good tyres also play a part, etc. a certain Thai made tyre famous for skidding in MSCP carpark..hope it helps

the road when entering most mscp is mainly from those kinds where there is not much friction unlike tar roads.

Best to put both ure legs down and play around the biting point.

and yes, dont throttle so much.

had my first fall on my first bike in the mscp(after heavy rain)....skidded while turning. luckily there was a couple who helped me and picked up my bike for me. both of knees were swollen. realised that i rode over a drainage while turning....my advise is to turn on your highbeam when in the carpark, try to keep to the left as on the left side is unlikely to have any oil or water, avoid turning, braking on those painted markings, drainage covers. ride slow. no need bank in while turning:cheeky: . and try to have one of your legs down so at least stable  . ride safe :thumb:

It happened on my 2B bike last time, in the end it's my tires problem - they looked good and groove is deep, but the tires are too old and have already harden and will cause skidding on wet floors.

Agree. many mscp are very smooth especailly when it rains. worst like my previous cp very high slope where they put circular holes. wahhhh, when rains and water get collected in the holes, it gets more slipery. as newbie many places u need to take note like on the road, the white land yellow lines can also be slippery when rain. then the red tiles at the school.

yes TS maybe you should look at the condition of your tires. or maybe get a better pair. not good to skimp on tires, especially during this rainy season.

seems like MSCPs are more dangerous than open carparks on rainy days ??

Stop using skinny tyres.

Don't lean

Don't use ur front brakes, use engine braking.

If still keep on skidding, complain to HDB and use another carpark. You know how Singapore is, the government doesn't think for bikers.

Usually i will go extra slow, not leaning and lots of engine braking.

Careful when going up those slope at carparks, they sometimes have a long stretch of drain just before you go up the slope. Don't throttle when your tyres are on the drain.

When floor wet and when turning in MSCP, i will always put both feet down. Old tires, new tires, its just very slippery cant help it one.

Be gentle on the acceleration when on slippery surface and brake smoothly. I don't understand why can't they use non-slip paint for MSCP.

Maybe parking fees increase first..?

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

I know what you mean. I dread MSCP car parks with cemented flooring. I have never overcome my FEAR of such car parks. They make me break out in sweat. :giddy:

What I do is to put down both feet and do a very gentle acceleration. Of course, braking very gently too.

Then I will hand-push the bike into the lot.

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

Yeah, they will wait till something serious happen then we will see something like that happening.
