Sorry, not sure if it has been asked before and i've also checked out onemotoring and am still confused on COE renewal. Here are some questions.

My bike's current COE expires on 30th March 2013.I would like to extend from 31st March onwards so as to fully maximise the use of the current COE. :)

So when can i pay for the new COE to start exactly once the current one ends?Do i have to go down to LTA to the renewal?

Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

You can only renew after 1st March & before 15th because your renewal of COE will be based on pro-rated last 3 months.

Reason is, COE bidding and release is on 1st and 15th.. 15th is for people who renew on April and you can't renew on April.. :)

And your COE will start from 31st March.. Remember to renew your COE and buy insurance and do inspection and renew road tax.. :) Make everything on one date will be easier alot for you.. :)

Oh ya.. Road tax will go up higher and higher until 50% more.. :)

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Not pro-rated, the PQP is the moving average of the COE prices (QPs) in the last 3 months.

You can renew your COE anytime, even one week after registering the bike.

To renew COE you use current PQP value, not COE value. PQP is calculated using the avearge of the last 6 COE biddings. Each month there are 2 COE biddings, hence normally ppl will say PQP is the average of last 3 months of COE.

There are cases when ppl would like to renew COE early. For example, my COE is ending in a few months time and I do not intend to scrap my bike. If the last 6 COE biddings suddenly drop to a cheap value, I would renew my COE now rather than later as I would save more money.

Posted

Since the ppl running the place is so money faced. If one decides to renew the COE and since the amount floats around + and - of $2000 by not much, why bother to renew early?

Just plonk down the right amount on the last day before the COE expires.

Of course you have to make the trip down to Sin Ming to see those money faced ppl.

End of story.
