38 officially definitely hot.. imagine Singapore 32-34 and we all felt like burning liaoz.. 😂

Yes.. definitely hospitable.. I still recall I walk in to one of the "restaurant" being the only customer there early morning.. and the owner is still "packing/unpacking" their stuff and come and greet us.. But you know la.. We dun speak Korean.. so (1 chicken 1 duck).. 😂 They pass us the menu and we just point to any photos that we find it nice.. haha..

For busier restaurants.. = they will stare at us... 😂

Tasmania used to be a "Prison" if I didn't recall the history wrongly.. that's why gun laws are quite diff?

It’s super hot today with lots of flies..

in Korea; it’s fun and nice and I look forward to going back.. really like roaming the streets for fried chicken and 🍺. (Not driving then)

I always point to food as I don’t speak Korean… as long it works…

For Tasmania; there was a very unfortunate incident of a mass shooting.. that’s why laws were changed… guns are like motorbikes; users must be responsible…

Yes, am hiking and it's quite remote (ulu) and I usually will reply when I have 4G or wifi... where I am right now... there is no wifi... just roaming 4G... which itself is pretty ok; can watch YouTube; but will drain bandwidth really fast.. :D

@Nakuru how's the leg's progress? Are you off the dressings and how's the graft healing so far? Hope all is good with you..

@Janeoh how's lessons coming along with you and the hubby? Looking at the bikes touring... it's nice to think about getting on a bike to do a road trip, but I might get a Sat phone... some places.. really remote... on reception at all..... but I think I still like roadies.. and not those touring sorts as they really look tall...

The skin graft area is still covered.. i rather they keep it covered since the leg brace is just nice at where the wound is.. the main knee n calf off dressings already but theres still a 1cm big hole beside the knee still refuse to close up.. gotta let it heal from inside so tt part will still be covered up.. still cant move my leg much.. cant lift my leg.. dun think its normal.. this fri got xray check up.. praying hard tt i dun hear shit like "oh.. we fucked up ur previous surgery so we need a 4th surgery to fix back the tendon now. U can prep to get urself admitted now" :(

It takes time to heal so please hang in there. Don't worry about the review, as the surgeons / orthopedic surgeons would have to see how the healing goes and the next cause of action. Yes, it is really a worry and while it might be a while; the body is healing and soon you will be better... See what the doctor says and next thing you know... you will be leaving all of us in your exhaust pipe....

Hihi! Hiking! Wow.... I haven't thought of doing that 😅 my dad, however, went up Bukit timah with his friends on Monday! Not even 3 weeks since his bypas 🙄😑

lessons? Hahaha... since the last one previous Monday, we haven't had a lesson - no slot. I'll be going for one on Friday to familiarize myself with the bike again (pretty bad at these motor-coordination things) and we'll be going on Saturday together. So long right! The wait for a lesson!!

Have fun down under! Stay safe and hydrated. (My son asked - isn't it winter in Australia? Why would it be hot? 😂)

Oh dear... that's really worrying. When u go for check up I suppose if Dr say it's normal then it's normal lor... I have no experience with this. It just sounds tough.

I'm just living with a sprained knee now 😂 will go get some acupuncture done later.

Hahahaha I believed I said something to that effect! I wish I could lose 1cm around my thighs. Or more! Hahahaha

Yes, hiking... and there are tons of flies.. the good thing was that was able to see crocodiles in the wild... which was an experience. It's a good thing that your Dad is up and about even after his bypass as staying still is not really the thing to do, if you check with his cardiologist.... thing is that as long he feels fine and leads a good lifestyle.. it should be fine.

Thanks; yes, it should be winter... but I am in the Northern Territory which is known as "The Bush", it's hot and dry... and when it rains.. .it floods... yes, it's harsh weather.. .what your son is thinking of is the weather in Melbourne, Sydney and even in Western Australia where the weather is cool even as summer is the later months of the year. Hence, he is right to ask, why it is "hot in winter"... yes it is...at 38C and in the month of Sep onwards... it gets even worse as the humidity builds while the heat remains... :D

Im now only scare they say its not normal cos everytime i go check up n change dressing, i asked y cant i lift up my leg n they nv given any concrete response to it.. just say it takes time.. only the xray will tell whether normal or not.. i scared i tear the tendon by accident w/o knowing cos there was once i dropped my leg n there was a loud crack dunno from the knee joints or the tendon snapping..

I would think that if something snapped it would be painful right? So was it more painful? And there would be swelling? Is it more swollen?

yeah... that's really hard to tell. But can only assume that everything is okay since there's no extra/prolong pain.

actually your leg looks smooth... like the skin graft area just looks bruised. Cannot tell different muscle was put in etc

Ah no la.. no 4th surgery yet la.. im just overthinking to mentally prepare for the worst.. tomorrow go Xray then will noe the tendon heal till how.. best case scenario is healing well then only need do physio lor.. worst case is 4th surgery to fix things up lor.. 🤞🤞

Hahaha i see b4 ur leg liao but if u wan to show here, i wun stop u 😂

Ya.. cos the "knee" is muscle from calf ma.. so if i touch my knee now, the feel will go to my calf cos the brain haven register that it is the knee yet..

LOLOLOL... dun wan la.. I shy.. 😛

Meanwhile, yes.. there could be a possibility that the nerve from the calf was move together with the muscle.. (beyond my knowledge) Need to check with the doctor liaoz...

Hopefully it can be "re-registered" to your brain that the nerve is in diff places..

It takes time to heal.. don’t worry too much on it. Also; don’t push the limbs so much… I mean it about getting all the gear…

Today; I saw a Duke 390 on the road here in Darwin and it was so nice… but honestly; the GS1200s are so smooth on the highways… you can see the power and the popularity on the outback’s… you know it’s the right choice!

Back to @Nakuru … stay positive about healing…. We’ll ride with you once we qualify…

hello, i just passed my 2B at BBDC.

if anyone has questions regarding taking 2B at BBDC, i can try my best to assist as my experience is still fresh.

as i'm not a young person, quite a few students and even a couple of instructors asked if i had my class 2 licence revoked LOL.

thanks!

i think the spring chickens use other channels of communication, not an internet forum 😄

i found it useful to be able to ride at least once a week. Keeps some semblance of muscle memory and takes less time to warm up at the next lesson.

i registered at BBDC in April this year. But in February, i had gone to Chiang Mai and took a 2 day intensive clutch bike course at Honda there. Afterwhich i rented an automatic scooter and rode around the mountains of North Thai for a few weeks 😆. I must say i am familiar with the roads and mountains there as i had previously driven there in my car from SG. So the first few BBDC lessons were easier for me, with my prior experience.

The BBDC instructors do give the learners proper time to warm up, especially for the first 5 stages. And somehow the instructors know if the students have had a long gap to their previous lesson, as i heard some of them mention it to my fellow students who had their last lesson a month ago.

sorry to hear about your accident and fall.

do take time to rest and recover. Rehab is very important to recover range of motion and strength. I tore my left MCL while playing golf overseas some years back. Hurt like mad but rest + rehab helped with the recovery process.

if it makes you feel any better, i fell from a bike even before i had a license LOL. i was trying to do a u-turn in a gravel-covered carpark in an elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai and the rear wheel slide out and i fell. Only damage was to my ego and the right side mirror of the bike. Right hand elbow had some light bruises but i think the gravel cushioned the fall. Still, it was a learning moment for me. i know now what i did wrong and what i should have done to prevent it in future.
