Bros,my frend told me that FZs(generally both 600 n 1000) have problems with wheel bearings.Cause he went touring with his frends and some of them riding FZs.Is it true?

Also,i asked a bike shop today bout my FZ6 battery. He told me that FZ6 battery cost about est $190 due to that its those totally dry type.So ex ar?!Thats for Yuasa.Anybody using Shinko?

No one knows if that is true, but did happen to fz1 gen 1 riders before. the best is to buy a set of bearings and bring it along during tours.

Or you can change off the bearings when you change tyres, i do it to reduce the risk of bearing failures during trips.

as for the battery part. the fz gen 1 is using the gel type of battery, which explains why it is so expensive, but it last a long time, mine is still going strong after 3 years. Fz gen 2 batt is different, will let the gen 2 owners tell their tales.

Yeah, changed my bearing when I changed tires, one of the rears was crapped out, the rest looked OK but was not as smooth.

Mine's stock. Been over a year now and it's showing signs off weakness.. My meter blinks when I start it in the morning.. hehehe.. but the engine turns on the 1st try so I'm not too worried. Using alarm too.

Onli original Yamaha Batt costs tat much . Yuasa batt from LAB costs less than $100 .

I think batts r a bane of Gen2 FZ1 owners , i had the priviledge to have to change battery every yr . Factors might be my alarm draining it , n me seldom riding my bike . Anyway , the 1st original batt i have as spare now is being used to power other things inside my store room n waiting a sotong to buy .

On the topic of bearings , when the front handlebar shakes when i let go my hands during moving , is it tat the bearings r worn off ?

have you done a wheel balancing when you change your tyres?

If no then you may like to try this first before doing anything, and since it requires you to remove the rims, same time can check on the bearings...a stone killing 2 kukubirds...:thumb:

Lolly.. convince me 100% ... .hhahahhah

see all the one i've asked is really feather weight riders.. I don have a heavy weight one to let me compare ......

of course if getting a 1K i wouldnt be thinking so much liao...

Then again... only 600 enough for me locally which is 80% of the time. For touring I no need go 240 anymore... can maintain at 160-180 is good......

thats why I considering 600 and all the cost of maintainance, road tax, insurance .....

1 yr back, i'm like u.

i stick to a 600 back den is b`cos:

1) i rode 80% in SG, 20% in Malaysia. (but mainly for petrol onli)

2) insurance & rd tax is cheaper.

3) seldom rode above 200km/hr, so a 600 will do mi more than enough.

4) OTR is cheaper too.

BUT do take note, my friend.

a maintaince on a 600 & 1k is ALMOST the same.

hmm... is there a suitable PC for the FZ6?

a of the fellow FZ6 owner tried to purchase 1 some time back & it turn out to be un-suitable for FZ6.

oh, he's on a 07 FZ6.

i'm on the Remus for more than 6 mths, no tuning done yet.

purely just the Link-Pipe & the End-cans.

i dun have problem with the unstable idling.

in that case, run your palm across the surface of your front tyre, do you feel little humps on the tyre surface? if so the surface has become un even thus causing the little vibration to your handlebar

I know where is the bike now. It's at my carpark, my friend owns it now.

Guess which word had this meaning.

1. Any code or set of principles containing different provisions for one group of people than for another, esp. an unwritten code of sexual behavior permitting men more freedom than women.

2. A set of principles permitting greater opportunity or liberty to one than to another, especially the granting of greater sexual freedom to men than to women.

3. A set of principles establishing different provisions for one group than another; also, specifically, allowing men more sexual freedom than women.
