U can try doing the tps diagnostic check to double confirm the stock settings are fine to dismiss any tps issue

Spark plug coils failure is another well known FZ1 gen2 problem too.

Any idea how much it costs to change the time belt n cam tensioner for fz1s ?

A few hundreds, you can do a valve clearance together.

Hi guys,

Anyone know the URL for the darkside forums?

Cpu died, so lost all my links...

Meow, google and type sgfazer,it's the first link of the search.

icic... so wat r the well known prob for gen2 that i shd look out for? cos i got a 2nd hand 07 model, the tendency of the prob popping out is higher compared to a new machine.

Yo just installed my tank bra at MoneyWorld ytd evening. But just checking with u guys coz when i see mine installed around the fuel cap circular cut out area it seems like got a crease/buldge jutting up. Asked the mech he say will soften and sit into shape after a while. Is it true? I scared its sloppy work.

i may be wrong but i think it should be running on timing chain?

like what james suggested, do the valve clearance check at the same time.

but have your bike mileage reach at least 60 000km? I did mine at 60 000km and have the intention to change the timing chain, but when my mechanics removed it, i only change the tensioner and nothing else, the valve clearance were still okay...what i am saying is i know the owner's manual say to do the valve clearance check at 40 000km...that is a little premature and kaisu

anybody going in 2nd link for petrol? later..?call me if u wanted to join..:)

wah bro i went in at around 5pm, didn't see your post else i sure banana you

that time i was chatting wit the mechanic at HLC while doing my 2nd servicing, there was one FZ1 there wanting to get a valve clearance but the mechanic was saying if the engine doesnt give u any funny feeling, don do valve clearance even if u hit the mileage reccomended by the manual. its the mechanic advice to me if in future i hit valve clearance mileage.

Thanks James, I google Singapore Fazer, no wonder cannot find lah, haha.

I think I did my valve clearance, timing chain and tensioner at around 47000 km. There's a saying "If it's not broken..." Then again, no harm letting the mechanic check right? (other than damage to wallet)

Oh btw, I'm a gen 2 rider as well, long time lurker. Now more free at work so can surf forums, haha.
