Anyway working on the RK EZ clutch for my new ride, is a 2003 reg stock RK BLACK.

(NO CLASS 2 YET...... I MUST GET IT QUICK)

harley clutch is too heavy- even HD decide that 2006 onwards come standard with soft clutch kit n fix tension($245) for the rubber band.....

Harley parts price is crazy man... very close to Ducati parts

Got 2 gasket($7,$75,$110) n Reduce effort kit FOR 06model Rk today.

dealer labour quote $200 for the job.

I guess I need to DIY myself:sian:

Maybe u would like to log on to http://www.singaporebikes.com or http://www.harleysingapore.com for more infos...

N be caution, by loggin into both sites, u may get heavily addicted to Harleys.. haha~

Not to worry, owning a harley isnt as ex as most would think.. unless u wanna custom, esp big time customising...

I am back ! :D

Ya ... I know exactly what you saying. Addiction and costing.

I am already addicted to riding Harley everyday ... :D I feels funny if I skipped a day or two.

One can get their ready commit sum of money for Jap new bike for a 2nd hand Harley. Frankly, there is no much diff as the way I see it. Harley owners usually takes care of their bike very well and selling it at a low mileage. :p Moreover Harley is tough and it last. 02 more advantage getting 2nd hand is that the buyer suffers from less depr/yr and he/she put themselves into a wider range of choices. What needed here now is patience. :D

Call me for kopi and celebration once you got your RK. :cheer:

RK ar?? nowadays like not many ppl letting go of their RK leh.. sian~

went to view 2...

1 too ex...

22k for 99yr...

the other cheap but got quite of lots to touch up... cos he nv ride at all...

Any lobangs?

My Sportster pick up win SF4 hands down. :D

SF4 = Honda Super 4? If it is.....

Your bike:

- a bike known for low-end torwue

- CC more than 2x that of a super 4

- meant for straights more than corners

If you can't beat a super 4 on pickup, something is extremely wrong...

I don't encourage street racing, don't get me wrong. :help: Go track if want to play. :p

haha.. classic cafe racer dun race on street but race on track... a bit not so compatible leh..

hahaha~

Well said well said....anyway harley isnt abt speed, but lifestyle, art n most of all, Loud n virbations..

When it comes to street race, bike model and capacity never put into consideration. :D Is all about bike ability + rider + Guts ! :D

My GSXR400 chop chop by a NSR250.

My XR650 motard got chop chop by KTM250.

Unmod Hayabusa GSX1300R got chop chop by GSXR1000k6/7.

Fast big cc Harley 1450cc got chop chop by Vmax 1200cc, thanks to their V-Boost.

Hayabusa 1300cc can chop chop Yamaha MT01 1670cc.

A mint condition 250cc Aprilia can chop chop many many out there ... ... ...

Honda Super4 400cc with full Yoshimura race kits can chop chop many 600cc and some 1000cc on the street. :thumb:

Thats a whole lotta text..... and sorta informative too.

Just wondering though, given what you said, why then bother comparing a sportser with a super4?

IMHO, 22K is rather reasonable for a 99model.

as long as it doesn;'t give u problems.

I agree with NA only to a certain extent

mentioning about the maintenance being rather affordable.

Recently, I went to tow my RK after a breakdown,

mechanic told me that probably, the valve gave way and possibility of needing to change the front engine block is very high.

As mine is an after-market engine block,

the whole set cost $12k+ so replacing one part requires at least 6k.

No choice if tats the case, still gotta fork the money out.

Thank god after stripping bike, found that its the gasket.

gotta order from US wait at least a week and cost $600.

(90% discount sia..)

mabbe u gotta pray that its always the normal maintenance thats required and such situations dun arise tat often.

So please reserve some spare cash after purchasing it.

and if u're intending to sell ur bike fast to get cash,

u gotta at least set aside probably 6 months.

It took me 3 months to sell off my 98 model sportster at half the price I bought it at a year ago.

(juz for consideration and not to discourage)

Hey Marvy, you might wanna try E-bay for your parts. It might be cheaper as there's little middleman cost. But locally, they might mark up the servicing price to compensate if you do that.

Hows the depreciation for a Harley? Many say its low for a bike.
