anyone knows where to change exhaust for xr1200? as in aftermarket's cause the termi pipe in dealership cost 1740 inclusive of installation, i find it kinda steep for just the slip on...

 

I dont think many options just yet as XR 1200 is a new bike, just started selling in US so may take some time for customisers to make the pipe. Check with Vance & Hines website as they seem to be most popular.

I had a 05 XL883C previously. Same symptoms. I did mess around with my carb for awhile before I saw the same info regarding the Crank Position Sensor online.

 

Popped by the dealership during lunchtime, got one and replaced it in a couple of mins (it's plug and play.

 

Problem solved.

I was looking at the wires that is running down my ape,and thought of doing internal wiring to clean up the bar...tracing the wire down to the tank harness area, i see lotsa connectors..darn, lotsa of work to be done, look like i got to pay yee or tony to do it for me..

 

btw, anyone know what they will charge for for the above job?

 

They sell pre-wired bars (internal) online. I saw on ebay and some other shops I think. Not that ex. Everything in. Apes plus switches plush wiring all in. Just take and install only.

 

But wires out more classic look ley.

The classic look would only have the clutch, throttle and brake cables. Wires for turn signals, starter, and switches werent need in the old days. (they didnt have as much electronic stuff.)

Check first whether ther will drill holes in your bars for internal wiring. Am assuming they are not predrilled as they would have already done internal. Not sure if Harley will drill as legal issues. Otherwise, if dont have to buy parts, just labor costs which should not be too bad.

 

internal wiring definitely have to drill holes, of course you can get nash gimp bars with predrilled holes and dimples but mine is mini apes from hd so yes if i want to do internals, the bars have to be drilled...but that no issue, most of the local indy shops can do that for me, dont have to get hd to do that..it most probably cost 3 to 4 times more.

There are custom shops that sell these too but I lazy to find. It's somewhere in my bookmarks. But I have tons of bookmarks to seeve thru.

Just about every other bike in Singapore runs V&H. I think you can check with any of the independents (Sunhogs/Starburst) and they can order for you. Harley riders only afraid of itchy hand, oily finger...that will scratch their paint work, blur their chrome, throttle to choke their crab , other than that, they can talk to you for three days three nights like long loss bro over bike stuffs...eg, where they buy these, why this paint work, feel like doing these and that if got money, whats their next project and hell lots of harley shitty...and prepare to get poison when they fire it up.
