Last time when I had a Sporty with no fuel guage I set the trip meter every time i filled up. Then always refill between 200 and 250 klm.

Mine was the 1200C with the bigger tank so you will need to work out the usual no of klm to get you to around 1/4 left in your tank then after that no problem, won't need guage unless someone steals your pertrol.

Just use your trip meter and reserve switch to monitor. No more digi display. Back to analog baby ;)

hmmm that true, when you decide to ride a hd, it means going back to good old basic

oh then i think you better start to reset the mileage every time you fill up and take note how much you can travel before you need a fill, you wont want to be caught pushing your bike to the nearest petrol station with singapore kinda weather

sporties I think dun have reserve fuel light or any light indicator or fuel. Just basic turn signal, high beam, oil etc...

Icez: Bad habit. Must change. How to go touring like that? heh

my sporty do have a reserve fuel light that comes on around 3 litres left mark..not sure if this feature is only available for the nightster model

Well, even on my Dyna glide with a fuel gauge, not really very accurate. The first half seems to sip petrol, then the second half of tank, drains real fast if you understand what I mean. Probably because I have a tank lift. I barely get 300km with the big tank, but prob because of my set up (stage 1, pipes and PCIII). Not really a hard rider so always keeping an eye out for petrol stations when in Malaysia...

agreed with the accuracy part, mine dont tell the same figures between top up. I too had a 1 1/2" tank lift recently so now i dont really know when the reserve light will come on

anyone knows since ive bought the bike from the showroom, got any things they'll give free? as in helmat etc

No freebies when I got my bike 'cos I got $3k off the price due to clearance of previous year models. The $3k that I saved ended up to a lot of accesories....

I actually like using trip-o-meter to gauge. Keeps me on my toes. Displays are never accurate.

I dunno about Harleys but for my Shadow, when the battery disconnects, the tripmeter resets to 0. I forgotten the last reading and I had to guess when to re-fuel :sian:

The dealer usually has some from time to time on consignment. Would be newer models.

Sun Hogs (by Turf City) has a few.

Starburst?
