A colleague of mine told me this when I said I was gonna buy a H-D XR1200. He's riding a R1-09, btw..I got so fed up by his comments I lost my mood during 1st day of Hari Raya.

 

go tell him, when at junction ppl wont see R1, cause its common, ppl will take 2 or 3 looks at a harley, even when parked, ppl will look at a harley not an R1

 

most of my friends whom r riding sports bike r riding R1, they agree too that R1 is for cheepos, rather buy ducati 1198 or 1098 if u need the thrill or fun + cool rating

 

so go tell them, rather ride bicycle then ride R1, rather get a duke

 

 

 

actually personally even after owning a harley, i still make fun of harley owners with ape bar, i find them weird... personal opinion u see, so is his personal opinion

You certainly seem very affected by OPC (other people's comments). Your colleagues frank opinion spoilt your holidays & made you bothered enough to come complain in the forum in large fonts? So totally not worth it.

i was quite bothered but not to the extent i lost my appetite for life...i mean,this colleague of mine is a total anti-H-D but i dun care,,man...doesnt bother my life,u noe what i mean?i just wana let u guys here noe.dats all..its not a complaint

not necessarily true... those who really enjoy riding sport bikes.. change from duc to R1 09.. unless ofcuz poser like us.. just for looks and sound..

 

and 28k machine price R1 is not that "cheapo"

No it's not mine. I have not ridden my bike to Marina Square so far

 

Yeah the bike is not huge. Just look like a typical 600cc naked. On the other hand, I think the Iron is huge "in person" as compared to pictures hehe.

There was once after I bought the canvas for my 883 outside ah boy, an uncle who own a old BMW bike came to me and ask "Hey, is this the cheapest harley model?" I replied positively. No doubt it is the cheapest model but I feel comfortable owning it. I bought it within my means. We can't stop everyone from smearing. Just live and let live. Unless you have been announcing to everyone that you owns a harley which I think there is no big FXXX abt it.

I for one, particularly bought the Sportster 883R out of the whole range of HDs becos i liked it most and it suit what i use it for.

 

ie mostly riding to supermarket and food center to "ta pao"....hahaha

As you know, there is no end in comparing bikes (or anything) that way becos someone else will have a more expensive more exclusive bike.

Do you have pride in owning your 883R? I sure do. I am happy you do agreed that no point comparing apple and orange. You might find harley better but someone else may find vespa is better. To each of its own.

 

BTW, what colour is your 883R, mine is black. 05 model.
