he ask road tax for fun one lah.... he wanna use the time to check the bike... anyway road tax alway must carry with us? i don't usually put the road tax on the bike....

just got stop by maggots just now on my way to office, lol. so damn rude, saw the maggots on side of the road making a phone call when i zoom through CTE towards PIE exit. a few seconds late I saw him behind my back following me from lef to right checking out my Yoshi. And finally ask to me to pull one side. A short chinese maggots, so rude..... first word from his mouth, road tax then start looking from the rear to the front of my bike looking for somrthing to find fault. Unfortunately he cannot find anything.

When I took out my road tax, he didn't even look at it and say ok ok... KNN... waste my time. These maggots are far way behind the Traffic Police when dealing with motorist on the road. Super arrogant and rude.

Good question... is it a must to carry road tax? I lost mine. how ah? anyone knows?

yeah i never display my road tax or season parking cuz i am of the opinion that if they wanna verify, they can always check back with their HQ or it would be recorded in their system already. No problem with season parking cuz never kena summon. But not too sure about road tax.

Posted

Personally,i think there is no necessity in carrying road tax as theres no where that indicate that a rider or driver must display the road tax on his vehicle....or is there?

Posted

Road tax no need to carry or display.. They can check on their system.. Since they have the bloody time to stop us then make them go call in and check...

Actually according to traffic regulation, we must always display the road tax disc at all time visible. They can actually summon you if it is not displayed. But if he wants to check on my exhaust, why don't he ask straight for the certified toilet paper instead of my road tax and he dun even bother to take a look at it.

Posted

what is the point of displaying all these when everything is captured in a computer system, which records are, I presume easily accessible enough for a check. MIght as well make every vehicle display the following:

1) Road Tax

2) Insurance (A4 Size)

3) COE

4) Log Card

5) Driver's License

6) Last Servicing Record/Receipt

7) NRIC

8) etc etc

It's one thing to carry stuff around and make it available for checking and another thing altogether to make people DISPLAY ugly stuff on the vehicle. Like the freaking battery draining IU unit. Yucks.

There is no hard and fast rule. A Harley air cooled v-twin should be torque-y enough for second. First would be kind of slow and draggy. Although it's generally not recommended that you lug your engine...a little around the turn at the junction shouldn't do much harm. I have no problems with second or third gear, depending on the speed I'm going and the mood at that time haha...Most of the time if I'm just riding through without stopping it's either second or third. If it's a stop and go, then first until almost at the end of the turn it's second.

Thanks for yr advise. Will practise more ...

From Honda's Phantom to ..................

Clearing each stage at SSDC and BBDC for bike license was fun !!!

hi bro, this is Iron?? Your new bike??

I wish... It's an iron with d Remus powercone exhaust that I v gian.

But buy online plus shipping is ard $1.5k.

As for d maggots, normally I ask politely for his full name b4 he start.

I make a big wayang of asking him for d time as well & entering d info into my phone.

I say " sorry ah boss, for my reference only... B4 we start... Jus in case la"

Then I give him a fake smile.... At least let him know that I can b v specific if he gives me reason to complain. Especially if He thinks we owe him a living.

that's what i would do too. anyway, is it wrong if we ask them to show us their id so that we can copy down the details? i mean, they wanna summon us, we also wanna know who summon us... fair right?

nothing wrong with asking for ID. people also ask police for their IDs all the time. So if the police, who have more statutory powers, r obliged to provide ID, why not LTA?

Good to F the hell out of them if they try to be rude. Since they are not under civil-servants, lodge a report and escalate all the way to the TOP!

they are civil servants. In the legal sense at least. Under lta act they can actually exercise the powers of police but due to the lack of training the police go through, they exercise limited rights. As long as they r enforcing laws in public interest n appointed by govt... In this instance MOT... They r still civil servants. But of course that's no reason to be rude n all. No need to be service oriented but at least show some basic courtesy right?
