Would you be interested for a small sum?

Most likely could fit a big man like you. heh heh

Cheers!

Anyone seen the 696? Went over to minerva to enquire...21K Machine price it seems. They said there will be a model over the upcoming bikeshow. Anyone has ordered one? Am quite interested. Since the m400 has been discontinued anyways ;)

Yo! I was at the Bike show this morning. You really got to see the Monster 696 in its real form. It is beautiful, neat, tight and high tech. The pipes look like 2 rocket launchers ready to blast the bike off anytime, anywhere!! I really wish I could fill it up with petrol and have a go!

Machine price is $21,267 inclusive of GST, 6mths Rd Tax, Registration Fee and Number Plate. Add in the bloody COE and insurance and it'll cost ard $23K OTR. Was told that there are already 8 orders so far. Arriving in June or July.

Dam .. I am having a really hard time deciding between the 696 and the new Triumph Street Triple 675 (which cost $1K-$2K less). Both are naked and powerful. Both turns me on. What should I do?!?!?!??! I cannot afford both!!

To that cute guy that is leaving sg for overseas studies:

1) Do your necessary dental works before you go

2) Bring lots of spare glasses & contact lens & solutions.

3) Stationaries stuffs can find there, not as cheap but still can find there, made in china. Oh...and they uses letter papers instead of A4.

4) Try to bring along a International Driving Permit till you go for the driving courses there.

5) Luggage they can take biggest is 30 inches. Plan for 1 luggage because some flights only allow you one luggage instead of 2. And you can try to bring along Army kit bags, they are lightweight & cheap as luggage.

6) Bolsters & bedsheets...bring along a set of supersingle so you can sleep on your bed at the dorm soon enough.

7) And dont store hams or cheese in your shared kitchen. They will go missing soon enough.

8) Bring all yoru certs & so on with you so you always can use them to apply for this and that.

9) upon getting your letters, do drop by Cantonment Police building, go to the 2nd floor of block A and get a Certificate or no conviction blah blah. Certain clubs or institution requires that cert from your home country to process some applications. Like maybe owning a gun and providing you a conceal carry permit. Do also go for IPSC or IPDA training. Helps you to handle shooting incidents.

Wow I didn't know Fweddy also interested in the Triumph. I think pple who like the Monster will like the Striple too. Both have the look and the power to be a hooligan bikes. So what's his final decision?

I guess Mah Motor should have no problem bringing in the spares. They have been dealing with Triumphs for some time. Normal spares should be the same as any other bikes. But indeed, Triumphs are more rare than Ducatis in Singapore at the moment. People thought I am talking about bras when I told them I wanna buy a Triumph. Hahaha!!

Yes technicolorhighway, that is what I am thinking too. Why not give the Striple a try since I've already tried the 90 degree v twin. And it has got dam good reviews so far.

Hi ViciousKitty74, surprised to see you here. Who are you "talking" to? I really wonder if I've ever met you before because I used to serve my NS at Cantonment Complex (2000 - 2002). I used to travel by bus for 1hr+ each day to get there. I wonder how I survived those days!

vicouskitty74: thanks alot for yr advice! tht sure is a handful of them, but i still have lots of time here b4 i leave so i will probably still meet up with u n e rest again.. and getting e cert of no conviction..whao tht's a first.haha.. i will get more valuable advice when e day approaches !

yannie: hope u managed to change yr bulb.

randy: e termis for the 696 looks so cute. haha

yohji: for me it'll always be a ducati, since e day i heard a m400 fire up in camp, my heart was set. haha. but like yannie mentioned, u've alre tried e duke's L-twin, y not try something new. afterall, there's always a first to everything. =)

You ever visited the Welfare Division to book chalets or mini-bus? I was manning the counter for some time. Anyway this is Monster thread, so I shan't go too much off topic. Kudos to all you VSCs. Takes commitment and passion to be a VSC.

Yeah Ducati will always be in my heart. I'm always proud to know that I once rode a Ducati. I'm eager to try something new at the moment. I'm sure I'll return to Ducati in future when I'm richer hehe. I cannot deny that the 696 has something special about it when compared to the Striple. The Ducati charm ooozes from it. But the Striple has its own unique character as well. Oh well at least I'm changing to a British triple, not some bland Japanese inline4 (dangerous to say this statement). Hehehehe.

Hi guys,

Still I need to go back there for changing of steering cone bearing.

replacing of rear signal lights...so on.

no stock for Steering bearing now. only available at the end of this month.

You can get the steering cone bearings from any local bearing shop. It is SKF 639174. Cost about $45.00 each which is half the Ducati price.

Hi Singhla, Many thanks for advice.

I think I will buy and ask Mike to change for me.

This is my first time having to wait for parts for motocycle...bad!

the bike is always reminding me to change the bearing whenever engine is started. :sian:
