conjurer: if i'm not mistaken, termis cost abt 1.2-1.3k. non legal but arguably e best sounding.

legal ones, e.g GPR or arrows etc, costs a little more, but all u need is one simple but expensive fine for illegal pipes to make e legal ones seem so much more feasible. esp. if e monster is yr daily ride.

when i switched my pipes to termis last time, was told by mech tuning was not needed as it's only end cans. however, if yrs is fuel injected or u changing full system, tuning is recommended.

Guys, Chris here (GT). Nice meeting you guys last Sunday ... sorry about leaving abruptly. Realli not keen sending a few hrs washing my bike!

thanks. gulp! costly... i wonder how much the termis and akrapovic slip ons cost then.... i reckon some amount of tuning will also be required after the GPR exhaust change?

Some tuning yes.. its just an hour job.. after I change to carbon GPR slip on, tuning is a must as the exhaust enables the engine to breath better.. Went to Race Werks for tuning... Wat they recommend is they will wash ur carb then they will tune it.. $$ is abt $50 I not too sure as I change a few stuff at the same time thats y...

Didnt need tuning for mine.. it runs fine now. Guess you may have to forward your timing IF you remove baffles. Better not tho, it runs alright with the baffles still installed and you dont want to get in trouble with the law..

Dreamed I was a muffler. Woke up exhausted.

thanks for your reply. i just sent my bike to mike this morning and will leave it there for 3 weeks to do a full re-spray and whole laundry list of servicing to bring the bike back to its former glory.

after the whole re-spray do is done, i will definitely explore replacing the pipes. I use the bike to get to work, i live and work in the city and dont ride at night or weekends, so I think i am fine even if i opt for non-GPR/arrow :)

I wrote to Works Perf to enquire about their Akrapovic slip ons for the M620. They replied that they are unsure if it can fit the M400. Anyone knows if they can? Thanks!

Actually its abt taking risk if u go for non street legal ones.. I was fined $500 once for having a tremis illigal ones.. appeal and was fined $200 but still not worth it...!! Well its up to personal preference... abt the slips on models applys to low mount only M400 to M750 can fit all the same... High mount again its strickly a no no as its super illigal unless urs is S2 or S4 models.. Few years back yes its still legal but L.T.A rules change recently so can't..

true... there is no peace of mind too and if we have to constantly worry about being caught, may take the fun out of riding...

Is there legal termignoni pipes? i often see ducati sports bikes with termis (i think almost all the super bikes i saw) and wonder why hmm...

How much would a pair of legal termignoni pipes costs? and Why can I get that? Thanks.

Thats a good price actually, considering the fact that Akrapovics are very well built, and costs only slightly more than Yoshimura Titanium slipons.

Akrapovic Slipons for my bike would cost upwards of 2k...

Tell me abt it! I've ordered a pair of Arrow Slip-ons for my Street Triple for $1860 and they are NOT approved! Argh!

Are the Akras approved by LTA? If yes, I say go for it.

dont think its approved, forgot to ask Works that question. thought since the termignoni costs 1.2K - 1.3K, didnt expect the Akrapovics to cost 40% more. I think i will wait patiently for a used one to come by...

yohoo!!!

putting on my termi next week plus the ECU. hope that will fix the back fire problem. but i still like the looks of the arrow, it just has a better finish than the termi (my personal opinion). well, guess we cannot always have the best of both world.

sorry guys am going oversea this weekend wont able to join you guys.

have fun and ride safe!

Hi jyy did you put the arrows on without changing the ECU or altering the air/fuel ratio? Better-breathing aftermarket pipes will cause a lean condition if the air-fuel mixture is not changed to suit the pipes. An overly lean condition is the root cause of backfiring. The Termis set should make you very happy since it comes with an ECU which has a new air-fuel ratio programmed, one which accounts for greater breathing at the exhaust end. Had the same thing going on when i cored out my pipes. Backfiring on aggressive throttling (although i have to admit, i did love the sound of occasional backfire). Had bigger main jets put in and tada....problem solved. Carbs make changing A/F a little easier though :). Congrats on your new pipes!

Thanks blackreplica

yea had the guys at the ducati work shop tune the bike. but the problem still exist after they tuned it again and again... was thinking to get a power commender III to fix the problem, but after doing a simple calculation it just doesn't make much sense. about 450 for the PCIII plus a dyno tune another 400+ ... and also with warranty isssues. so better off get the termi once and for all.
