hi there nice work with your bike, why not just cut open your airbox cover? Seen a lot of monsters all over the place with cut airbox covers. It looks little ghetto but its free and with the fuel tank down who'll notice? Or you could get even more adventurous hehe:

You will DEFINITELY need to go with bigger jets on your carbs if you open your airbox though, the bike will simply run like ass until the fuelling is sorted.

I also used to have the GPR pipes on my old monster (see pic below). The CF covering on the pipes are a lighter colour than the blacked out theme you've got on your bike. It may not be a visual match. But they are good pipes, relatively cheap, and street legal. The Termi/Remus cans are a darker shade though and may cosmetically match your bike a lot better. the remus is street legal but will cost more. I think Arrow cans are a lighter shade like the GPRs. The bike will run ok without rejetting if you swap out the pipes.

Going with a free-er breathing intake and exhaust system on the monster is a good idea: the stock airbox/exhaust collector design is heavily flawed, there is a very severe airflow restriction. Most of the exhaust restriction lies in the header pipe though, and end can swaps have little impact on reducing restriction. With the carby monsters swapping the cans will yield about 2-4 HP at most, and that is provided re-jetting is done. If possible maybe you could consider a full system upgrade with your exhausts if you'll willing to go all the way one day.

If you'd like more advice on performance mods or something you can PM me i'll be happy to help you out. Its hard to talk about performance mods here without getting paranoid about 'big brother' if you know what i mean

Congrats again on your custom monster job!

Hey BlackReplica!

Thank you so much for sharing so much and the nice words (U2 Randy). This is certainly one thing I love and appreciate about Duc riders (except for that f@#$^*g accessories thieving ass!!!)

I was thinking about pod filters and re-jetting after reading DucatiSuite's site (he's my Duc hero and mentor!) but am not sure I could do it (I'm a DIY-fanatic). Cutting the airbox cover was an option but I feel insecure cutting it w/o having a spare.

Questions: "All the way" = cans + pod filters + jets? Bigger jet is illegal?

I will be changing to GPR slip-ons and will definitely retune. I was also thinking of coring my stocks (Big brother... thinking only ah...)

I will PM you when I have specific questions (sorry Big Brother)

Anyways, I will try to meet you guys at KTM one of these days to hear interesting stories and mods by the gang. Thanks again man.

i like this business philosophy

Yup they say the faster the better and good for both parties.. if not it will occupy their work shop space to accomodate other bikes...!

Dude... you kidding me. All these for $1K!!!

- spray frame + engine

- rewire

- engine oils

- plugs valve Clearance

- wash carb

- tuning normal (not dyno)

- new belts

Thanks for the tip man! Im surely going to Racewerks next! Tks again.

Not forgetting it also included fixing new steel break hose as well.. brand is G.P.R, I wanted to fix Hel ones but they said G.P.R is of the same quality but much cheapper so y not... Actually all in abt 1k++ can't remember but not over $1200.. frame was sprayed by paint shop.. engine & swing arm was sprayed by Race Werks, its good as well.. Well my wiring was rather messy, my low beam, signals was not working well so they help me fix it and tidy all the wiring since they already strip the whole bike... cheap indeed...!! good job done...!! :thumb:

We should be supportive of monster advertisements with a premium price tag - even if at the end of the day, the sale price is much lower. start at a very low price tag and that will be the market expectation of the price of our bikes :)

I think it's a good deal. Honestly speaking these monsters engines were designed to last. If he really did all those things that he said he did, then 7K is cheaper than fair price.

My 2 cents.

We will put up with your silent "zhu-zhu-kee" for this trip. You should really get some better pipes for it.
